Of coourse Hopkins was past his best but as the Pavilk fight showed, still a very formidable fighter.

The thing that most people forget(or don't realise) is that Calzaghe was also years past his prime when he fought Hopkins

I see you're also eager to play a game of semantics - well, I won't bother to try to change your mind on what you believe 'domination' means, instead I'll present you with some facts...

I imagine we would all agree all 3 judges would have scored round 1 to Hokins 10-8 due to the KD, am I right?

    Therefore:

116-111 minus rd 1, which was a 10-8 round to Hopkins due to the KD, equals 108-101 over 11 rounds.

115-112 minus rd 1, which was a 10-8 round to Hopkins due to the KD, equals 107-102.

    108-101 = 9 rounds to 2 (9 x 10 + 2 x 9 = 90 + 18 = 108, 2 x 10 + 9 x 9 = 20 + 81 = 101).

    107-102 = 8 rounds to 3 (8 x 10 + 3 x 9 = 80 + 27 = 107, 3 x 10 + 8 x 9 = 30 + 72 = 102).

Two of the judges scored the fight 9 rds to 3 rds and 8 rds to 4 rds to Calzaghe.

Add to this the fact that Calzaghe threw more punches than Hopkins, landed more punches than Hopkins, had a higher workrate than Hopkins, controlled the ring better than Hopkins, displayed more effective aggression than Hopkins throughout the 12 rounds and simulated ass-**** of Hopkins at his leisure.

When you take all that into consideration, I'd say that's pretty dominating.

Am I right or what, superfly?

PS - Adalaide Byrd scored the fight 114-113 to Hopkins. Take 10-8 away from that for round 1 and you have a score of 104-105 to Calzaghe for the remaining 11 rounds :scaredas:

Byrd scored the remaining 11 rounds 6 rounds to 5 rounds to Calzaghe :admin

Can you farking believe it? Your one shred of hope in proving that Hopkins was robbed is completely obliterated by the fact that round 1 would have been scored 10-8 to Hopkins by all 3 judges!!! :rofl

Truth is the fight should have been a draw and that would have been a fair result.

That was obviously the only Calzaghe fight you've ever watched.

Enzo always goes off like a frog in a sock in Joe's corner, regardless of how he's going in the fight - he was even carrying on like that between rds 1 and 2 of the Lacy fight.

  14. First of all.

    Bow.

    Congrats.

You've literally just destroyed the detractors who have no real argument other than conjectured crap to your post above. (the numbers one).

Also - Enzo/Joe would be worried no matter how the fight was going - Lewis/Holyfield anybody? Robberies/bad decisions happen all the time, the fact that a few rounds earlier Enzo was saying Hopkins was ready to go - and no one would say Hops won the rounds 9-12 - it's hardly likely Enzo thought Joe'd need a KO to not lose - but a KO to ensure there's no possible way to be screwed on the cards.

Calzaghe was handed a gift split decision over Hopkins. Calzaghe didnt actually land 30 legitimate scoring punches all fight, most were slaps illegal inside of the glove blows
