Don't forget, he also drew with Ray Austin and was put on his ass in the process.

Iggy was nothing special, he was good at knocking out C level fighters like Zuri Lawrence and Gilbert Martenez, then when he stepped up to the B level competition he almost got knocked out himself against Austin. His best wins are over a 45 yearold Holyfield and Shannon "The Inhaler" Briggs, neither of which he was even close to knocking out.

It's easy to look good against sub-par opposition, ****, even Peter looked like shades of Mike Tyson against Julius Long and Jeremy Williams, but once they stepped up in competition they didn't look so impressive. Iggy looked like **** against Wlad, winging shots, not doing anything he usually would. And Where is Iggy now? The guy hasn't fought since the Wlad fight in feb of 08. The guy just wanted a decent paycheck before he retired, he was a decent fighter, nothing more than that, exactly what his resume suggests.

The problem is that today's b-level heavyweights are actually d-level heavyweights. Like if young Botha was around today, he'd probably beat anyone not named Klitschko. Klitschkos are good, A-level fighters, and would be in any era; but everyone else is really sub-par. Many of them are old, shot b-level guys from the 90's!

I hear what you're saying but don't put me in the category of the extreme. I never said Vitali or Wladimir beat every Heavyweight in history, only that either would be a tough fight for any. I believe that is a fact.

That is utter bull**** & you know it. Botha? Get the **** outta here............:rofl

    W. Klitschko
    V. Klitschko
    Chagaev
    Ibragimov
    Chambers
    Povetkin
    Haye
    Valuev
    Peter

I'd bet on any of the above to beat the **** outta the very limited & slow South African.

    W. Klitschko: Agreed he beats the crap out of Botha and actually did.
    V. Klitschko: Also agreed he beats Botha senseless
    Chagaev: Nope. Botha wins, IMO
    Ibragimov: Again I pick Botha
Chambers: Maybe he can, but before this weekend I'd pick Botha
    Povetkin: Botha
Haye: He beats Botha too, but Botha stands a chance because Haye is not durable.
Valuev: He sucks. Botha wins, but gets robbed on the cards.
Peter: He also sucks balls and is not as good as Botha

    division lacks the excitement
... boring Wlad chopping like a terminator
... big mouth small balls Haye arrived
... last time when people got excited was when fat Peter beat fatter Toney
    ... injuries, cancellations ....
... John Ruiz still in the title picture

    This is true :good

The only difference I have is that I struggle to see how 'great' the Klits are. I am not saying they are or they arent but the dearth of talent elsewhere in the division (as you have outlined) means that they cannot prove definitively how good they are. They are both head and shoulders above anything else at HW now, but it's unfortunate for both that they have not been able to test themselves at the very highest level.

I have a few issues with a lot of what the OP said, but this little line is surely a wind up??!! :huh

To call any of the above 'average' is just plain wrong.

HW division, is weak right now, no shame in it, but it's true.

I believe Brewster, Povetkin, Ibragimov, Tua, Rahman, McCall, Mavrovic, Ruddock, Liakhovich, Thompson, could all possibly and probably beat Liston who was the same size/stature as Chris Byrd.

But of course many have come to believe this delusional fantasy that the hwt gods of eras gone by were almost mythological figures, far superior physically, techinically, courageously and tactically, than the best of today. Phooey. Very Good, independent thinking post Sarah.
