You are right about Ayala. Only Tyson at HW showed the kind of power Ayala showed at middle weight. Frightening power. His side job as a ****** cut short his career.

Tony fought some tough fights coming up, I remember a fight against Maldonado who just stopped undefeated Roger Leonard by TKO, Maldonado dropped Ayala hard but tony got up and KO'd Maldonado....it showed something. He KO'd Robbie Epps in 1 rd, Brutal and mean and Epps had just beat Dwight Davison a top middle of the time, he ko'd Carlos Maria del Valle Herrera in 3 and Herrera had gone 15 with Muarice Hope 2 years earlier and ko'd Steve Gregory in 3 and Gregory had gone 15 with Abdule Kalule...I think Tony had the goods to be a top force but blew it...it was not so much who he beat but how he did it. I remember first watching an amatuer fight and this tall muscular guy (i tnink his name was Kirkland) he was buit like Norton, tony was short, fat lightheavy, Kirkland hurt him and dropped him acouple of times in the 1st rd and I remeber thinking what a mismatch...then this little fat kid came back in a sea saw battle and hurt dropped and Ko'd this Ken Norton,Harold Johnson look alike.......I saw something inside this kid..a fire and he had power...but we will never know...he jacked it off...much like IKE IBEA
