the question is who would be a favorite at the bookies to beat him at 154 and under? Maybe Mosley, but i doubt it. Cotto no way after his loss to Margo. At 154 there is noone that would qualify.

    No such thing as unbeatable.

  4. Why couldn't Cotto beat him ??

He got pretty well beaten by Quintana, and Cotto is 10 times the boxer he is

Winky Wright is also a much better boxer than Quintana. Cotto COULD beat Williams, but his chances aren't good.

Winky Wright stylistically matches up worse than Cotto. But I get your point.

Anyways moot point. Fight won't happen.

I can say from watching Paul in the past, and honestly, although I havent been the biggest Williams fan, that in the 1st Quintana fight he had an off night. Who knows what it was but he was off. He proved it in the rematch. I honestly believe 154-160 suits his body better. Nevertheless, a loss is a loss and anyone can have an off night, so that shows that NO ONE is unbeatable.

but you do like to start threads, pose questions, but not put yourself on the line..

i'm just saying if you guys disagree back yourself and have it out with him.

you can post well whe you want to but when you don't you fall into a shell - just like now.

The problem with Paul Williams is that he's not a pure boxer, his footwork isn't all that good, he does not move in angles when he's on the defense. Like Wladimir and many other tall boxer he uses his height and reach very well, and it also helps he can fight on the inside, but once he moves to SMW or LHW and fights the likes of Dawson, Kessler, Bute, etc, he won't have that much of a height and reach advantage.

I would like to see Williams use his jab and circle his opponents when he's on the offense. He needs to be more of a "boxer" instead of a volume puncher, it might work on smaller opponents, but not on tall opponents with good skills.

Things are never that simple, styles make fights, not saying
Williams would lose, but Carlos would have a better
chance at this stage than Winky did.

I really doubt it. A past prime Winky went a full 12 with Williams. The new an improved Williams stopped Carlos in 1 round. Williams has Carlos' number and it's no wonder why you haven't heard a peep from Carlos about wanting a rematch. Hell have you even seen Carlos? He's been missing in action since Williams destroyed him.
