They've elevated Manuel Charr to the status of interim HW champ so he will face the winner of Briggs v Browne. Remember Charr was brutally KO'd by Breidis and has since beaten two bums. Pretty ridiculous really. Also means Haye is totally frozen out of the WBA picture so now he needs the WBO to make him mandatory challenger to the winner of Parker-Ruiz. In the meantime, I really think we'll see Haye fight Bellew now early next year while he waits for the WBO shot.
I agree but as a Brit and a Haye fan I want to see him get a shot. He clearly would have been more worthy than Charr anyway. Charr is a totally shot fighter. Briggs has also done nothing to get a shot at the the title. I think even the staunchest Haye hater would agree that Haye is the most talented out of the three.
The winner of Briggs-Browne is fighting Oquendo. Charr is there for an extra sanctioning fee. The very rarely make their champs fight each other
Only good news from this is Haye doesn't get a easy title shot gifted to him. That's the ibf, WBC and WBA tied up, hopefully wbo makes him actually fight someone ranked.
From what Hearn said recently it looks like he will be made mandatory for the Parker-Ruiz winner. That's why he wants to make the Bellew fight while he waits for the shot. No one can argue if he steps up against Parker and that's a great fight.
And nobody can argue if that happens he has been gifted it, he hasn't had a fight for 4 years, bet Haye is praying for a Ruiz win aswell.
Parker vs Haye is a great fight agreed, but what has Haye done to earn that shot? Haye should be stalking people like Pulev and Ortiz. It only takes 1 good win and he's right back at the front of the queue.
David haye will beat anyone in that division not named klitchko. For the life of me i dont get it why people wouldnt watch his fights.
Without going into too much detail here are some of the reasons why people wouldnt watch his fights: - Pulls out of fights on a whim after already signing for the fights & pulls out of two fights against Fury in 2013. This is something a man does not do. - Gets a shot against the undefeated, undisputed HW champion and fights scared running away for 12 rounds and then blames it on his little toe. - Spends 4 years out of the ring and comes back and fights two bums who take clear dives against him - Expects a world title shot off the back of his two wins against diving bums - Best win at HW was taking Chisora's head off and that is it - Is not developing or growing as a fighter, and still has the same counter punch from the outside "ambush" style he had 10 yeara ago. This makes him very limited in terms of the fights he can take and can win.
