3, I think. Closely followed by Holmes and Big George. I'm not big on rankings though tbh.

 

I take it by your lack of opinion onthe matter that, like Big Dunk, you'd rate Kessler over Holmes & Spinks? ;-)

I'd like to know his reasonings as to why I 'overrate' old timers.

Probably Tyson vs Holmes.... on the basis that Holmes went on to have a decent-ish run, taking Holyfield the 12 later.

Tyson vs Spinks is hard to really judge, blowing him away in a round was ****ing impressive, but he was only really sticking around for the payday.

Calzaghe/Kessler was again impressive, but for a short while in that fight Calzaghe looked like he was going to lose. Obviously Kessler had a dodgy spell afterwards with legal troubles, inactivity and crap opponents, culminating in the loss to Ward. But he went on to have a career best win (if not performance) immediately after.

I'd say the two Tyson wins are higher, but not by as much as you do.

Fair enough. I;m just not sure that Mundine, Beyer and Andrade are that much to get excited about if you're gauging a win best on the opponents run of form going into the fight.

Like the other two, Kessler was undefeated. The other two were also more proven, and were never handled that way after (Holmes) or never fought again (Spinks, although he was pretty much retired going into that fight, but an undefeated two-weight World Champion, I sure Rob will take that into account when judging Spinks' merits as an opponent)

would you rate Calzaghe higher than in an ATG sense? O.K, you don't do lists, fair enough, but you'll know more than enough about each of them to assess them against Calzaghes ring record :good
