Just rewatched De La Hoya-Quartey again after about 15 years and what a fight that was. So many swings in momentum with Quartey winning the middle rounds, and Oscar closing the show. It was a close close fight that could have gone either way. I scored it for Oscar by a point. 114-113. Here's my scorecard below.

    Vargas vs Wright. 1998.

As a Vargas die hard fan, watching this again I thought Wright should have got the nod. Vargas looked alot better against Quartey but in this fight he looked like ****. Here's my scorecard below

Jaron Ennis vs Karen Chukhadzhian 2

    1 Karen
    2 Karen
    3 Karen
    4 Karen
    5 Ennis 10-8 Knockdown
    6 Ennis
    7 Ennis
    8 Karen
    9 Karen
    10 Ennis 10-8 point deduction
    11 Karen
    12 Karen

    114-112 Karen

Very surprising fight i wasn't expecting much in this rematch because the 1st fight was dull with Karen on his bicycle with Ennis winning a pretty comfortable decision. But it was a completely different fight this time around Karen was much more assertive and aggressive he landed eye catching clean punches all night and rocked Ennis numerous times. Shocking performance from Ennis quite honestly he eats so many flush punches and i think Karen won it clearly the judges scorecards were a disgrace.

I had it a draw - and though it could've gone either way.

What is interesting is that Karen does not believe He did particulary well or that it was close. I saw some interviews, He said that point deduction didn't matter because He already lost at that point. He does not believe He ever hurt Ennis with anything and said that He lost clearly.

Seems like despite his great poker-face, He was feeling the punches more than He made it look like. He said that even light looking punches were very heavy and He took a lot more damage this time (comparing to the first fight).

I think He did better than even He thought during the fight, probably because He took a lot of damage in couple rounds indeed (5 and 10 namely), but then He was definitely outlanding Ennis in many other, more quiet rounds. Wonder if He'll have a different take on it when He sees the fight back.

Just rewatched Pacquaio-Morales III and my goodness Pacquaio was a damn beast at 130-135. You can see how much he improved from his fights at 122 specifically against Agapito Sanchez upto the Morales 3 fight. Morales showed huge heart going toe to toe trying to win, but that version of Pacquaio was just too much. Great 3 round fight though.

2001-06-16 Felix Machado UD12 Mauricio Pastrana (IBF Super FlyweightTitle)
    Round 1: 10:9
    Round 2: 10:9*
    Round 3: 9:10
    Round 4: 9:10*
    Round 5: 10:9
    Round 6: 9:10*
    Round 7: 10:9
    Round 8: 9:10
    Round 9: 10:9
    Round 10: 10:9
    Round 11: 10:9
    Round 12: 10:9
    Final Score: 116:112 Machado

Pastrana had excellent skillset, particulary defensively - but had discipline issues and would not always show up in condition. He clearly got himself in shape for the World Title opportunity on HBO here, easily making weight despite dropping from Bantamweight where He mostly competed for the previous couple years.
Despite it - Machado proved to be a nightmare stylistic match-up for him. Tall southpaw with fast hands and engine to fight at a pace for all 12 rounds. I had the fight even for the first 8 rounds. Machado was busier, but Pastrana was solid on defence, not easy to hit - and was able to come back with single heavier punches.
Fight was up for grabs in the final rounds - but Pastrana could no longer keep up. The champion separated himself down the stretch, fighting in the same rhythm and pace in round 12 - as He did in round 1.

Not really an action fight, but very interesting clash of styles and tactical battle.

Rewatched Duran-Camacho last night and man that was a Robbery. After the 2nd round Duran took over, pressed the action landed good right hands and body shots and made Camacho very weary of throwing back. I gave Duran 6 rounds in a row, rounds 3-8. I had it 117-111 For Duran in one hell of a performance from the then 45 year old Legend.

Chris John vs Juan Manuel Marquez.

I thought Marquez got robbed in this fight. I had it 8-4 in rounds but scored it 114-112 on points due to Marquez being docked a point in rounds 10 and 11 making them 9-9 rounds since Marquez won the rounds IMO. John was an ok champ, his first fight with Juarez was controversial as well.

Vyacheslav Senchenko v Ricky Hatton (10 rounds)

    Round 1: 10-9 Hatton
    Round 2: 10-10 Even
    Round 3: 10-9 Hatton
    Round 4: 10-10 Even
    Round 5: 10-9 Hatton
    Round 6: 10-9 Senchenko
    Round 7: 10-9 Senchenko
    Round 8: 10-9 Senchenko
Round 9: Semchenko drops Hatton once and is counted out

Total through 8 completed rounds: 77-77 Even (actual scores: 77-76, 77-76 and 78-74 all with Hatton leading)

Ricky gave it his all after being out of the ring for 3 1/2 years. They chose a tough opponent for him in Senchenko who really starting tagging Ricky with straight shots and a clubbing overhand right. It was however, a single left hook to the liver that done in Ricky, who promptly said no more boxing. Hey, he gave it a go.

I really like this fight - even if it's more on the technical side. I saw it probably good 5 times and never had John winning - but He showed himself as a solid fighter nonetheless, it was not easy for Marquez either.

Carlos Palomino vs Armando Muniz 2

    1 Muniz
    2 Palomino
    3 Muniz
    4 Muniz
    5 Palomino
    6 Muniz
    7 Palomino
    8 Palomino great round
    9 Palomino
    10 Palomino
    11 Palomino
    12 Palomino
    13 Palomino
    14 Palomino
    15 Palomino

    146-139 Palomino

@Jel I know you replied to my previous post in regards to the 1st fight but did you score this one aswell ?

Anyway this was another good fight but alot more one sided this time, the first 8 rounds were similar to the 1st fight with Muniz having success coming forward in another good back and forth battle. The 8th round in particular was a classic and the best round between these two fighters.

But in the last 6 or 7 rounds Palomino really tattooed Muniz with solid clean hard snapping punches that regularly snapped back Muniz's head, and i don't quite know how Muniz stayed standing honestly. The difference in this fight is that Palomino's jab was alot more effective and he boxed far better at range landing solid combinations.

Overall i would say it's worth watching for the first 8 rounds which were very exciting, and then for the 2nd half of the fight to appreciate Palomino's boxing and Muniz's toughness. Not as good as their 1st fight because it was less competitive but still worth seeing IMO.

For me though, while the later rounds are more Marquez,I thought John out speeded Marquez in the early, middle, then the final rounds,I had him winning by 3 point, could've gone either way with what you prefer more, Marquez's hardest mauling punches,or John's good sharp precise shots,I thought John had the better defense, overall the fresher, and outlanded Marquez in both total and clean punch count.
