here's a fantasy matchup for all, that will cause WW III, lol. Ok, take the Joe who ripped the soul out of Lacy and the Toney who stalked, walked and dismantled Nunn. who wins? My answer is "I have no idea! James was one of the rare fighters that could expose any southpaw with that shoulder rock-away and seeing unorthodox moves from a mile away. But Calzaghe has proven that his style of slapping up points could have gotten him the judges in a technical chess match. I've gotta say though this ain't one of those fantasy match-ups that invokes rapid responses - you got to think about the derivatives and ponder. I'm wondering about how James was a notoriously slow starter at 60/68 vs. speed-freaks at orthodox, but came out destroying southpaws from the door because of his style to make lefties look silly. Wow, I still don't know but this is a fantasy debate to earmark for the future.
Been done about a 1000 times. Calzaghe's adaptability? Or Toney's superior punching and countering? I honestly go for a draw, though Toney would be the best puncher Calzaghe ever faced (in his pomp at 168 anyway) By the way, the Nunn fight was at 160. So that Toney would be outweighed a bit and not a fair matchup IMO:good

Ali vs. Foreman Jones vs. Johnson - a good insight into the psychology of boxing. Tarver destroyed Roy Jones' fear factor, the bubble had burst, the invincibility had gone. Johnson showed Roy no respect, he went after him from the opening bell which instantly put Roy into a defensive frame of mind. Johnson out-worked and out-fought Roy, and eventually knocked him out cold.
Hopkins v Calzaghe. Fifth time I've watched this, I think, and it never gets any easier to score. Hopkins did do a lot of holding although I think some of it was the clash of styles. Still feel Hopkins won but can understand the decision.
Just finished watching Marquez vs Vazquez I. 1. Marquez 10-9 2. Marquez 10-9 3. Vazquez 10-9 4. Marquez 10-9 5. Marquez 10-9 6. Marquez 10-9 7. Vazquez 10-9 Pretty much all the rounds were very close..... bet the judges were glad Vazquez was pulled out after the 7th.
Just watched: Herol Graham v Mike McCalllum Harry Carpenter was off for the night so there was no commentary for this World Title fight at the Royal Albert Hall!!! Steve Rider and Terry Lawless commentated at the end of each round. I think Graham did well to get a SD loss to McCallum. McCallum at 32, and accordingly to Terry Lawless 'a little slower than the last time he saw McCallum' was still too good for Graham. I put it down to that low hands style, I really do not like that style. You can see how Naz has adopted this style from Graham via the Ingles. Against top class opponents it gets found out. McCallum rocked Graham with big punches, particularly in the 4th and 7th (or was it 8th?). That said, Herol did come into the fight more after the 4th round and gave a world class operator like McCallum a very tough nights work.
