:good He was so natural he could get out of bed and fight and slipped right hands in his sleep. Only real weakness is he was really lazy on his feet and struggled with movers. It's one of the reasons Calzaghe would've decisioned him. I'm i the only one who thinks that fight is slightly overrated? Haven't seen it since the night mind.
Had a watch of Meldrick Taylor v Buddy McGirt as a pre-festivities fight. Brilliant, both the fight and the performance of Taylor. I thought McGirt fought pretty admirably in this one as well, certainly didn't do as bad as the commentators were making out. He just came up against an opponent who was on top form. The speed and power of Taylor was remarkable, you're just in awe when you watch his shots land. A pre-Chavez Taylor has enough to beat pretty much anyone at 140. I plan to start 2011 by watching a fight later when I get in tonight :smoke Have a great New Year lads! :good
u know what i fully agree before i watched it i'd been hearing comments saying it's FOTY, it's a good fight but not FOTY worthy it was high paced fight but not enough big clean hit's to get excited about.
Floyd Mayweather vs. Chop Chop Corley. This fight displayed the fact that Floyd has a clear problem with southpaws. Not any southpaw but with ones who can counter and most importantly punch with him. If they can match him for speed, outwork him and have good feet as well then he's in for hell...you all know who i'm thinking off? The reason he struggles is because Floyd squares up against southpaws. It's very difficult to roll and parry and counter when you're squared up. The incoming shots have a bigger target and thats why Chop Chop caught Floyd at the end of the third and beginning of the 4th. If i was Pacquiao/Freddie Roach i would be licking my Chops (no pun intended) watching that.
De La Hoya vs. Stevie Forbes. I just had the honour and priviledge of watching Oscar "fishy" De La Hoya fight Carl "the Tooth" Williams (I mean Steve Forbes) - lets just say it was like calling a ******ed kid for double dribble; i.e. Some things are better left unanalyzed. Thanks Oscar, LOL!
Jhonny Gonzalez vs Fernando Montiel Did not score it but felt Gonzalez did enough. That 118-111 card was way to wide though. Montiel's shorts were very homo, I now know why D Mac loves him :-(
Not really but like watching him fight. The Vazquez fight was great!! Unfortunately he has punch resistance issues otherwise he could have being something special. He's put together a bit of a run at feather and has got Hasegawa next. That should be a good fight :yep
