Rojas was a good tune-up for Caballero. Long, gawky, awkward angles.

I like both these fighters. The way Caballero took Molitor's heart made me a fan. :good

Gamboa to fight Whyber Garcia on Top Rank Latin Fury debut!

In his first fight under the (co)promotion of Top Rank, interim WBA FW champ Yuriorkis Gamboa will face former world title challenger Whyber Garcia on the July 25 Latin Fury card in Mexico. I would've preferred former world champ Guty Espadas Jr., Garica is a level below Espadas, but I guess it's was Bob Arum's choice, what can you do about it?

Garcia is from Panama who lost to both Valero and Linares by TKO, Maybe maybe fighting a Panamanian is setting up the much discusses Celestino Caballero fight for later this year, but I wouldn't bet money on that happening, I've already heard Caballero asking for too much. Shame.

I tell you something: I don't like Arena working with Top Rank. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is smalltime Latin Fury PPV material, Gamboa isn't. There's a legion of fans demanding Gamboa in Florida and HBO and Showtime love the guy, f*ck the Chavez Jr. PPVs. And f*ck Garcia... a step back in competition...

I don't like the Bob Arum deal one bit. :-(

Nice, never heard of that Garcia guy but it sounds good. Shame the Caballero fight won't happen though. Anyone know when Gamboa's planning to fight Chris John?

So it looks like as if Arum "bought" Gamboa to bring Chavez over with other than Mexicans...

Ya know what the sad thing is? If this a PPV, The likely option would be for Gamboa to main event. Chances are he'll get scuttle****ed into the top undercard spot even though he's 1000x the fighter JCC Jr is.

it wasnt arum;s choice it was espadas' i remember reading an article a few months back and espadas camp said that they didnt want to fight gamboa for an interim title instead they were going to try to go to japan for a real title.
