Boxing is 100% mental as most boxers will tell you. That's why guys often grin when they're hit flush. To SHOW that you're badly hurt would mean to give away a huge psychological advantage. I'm not saying taking a knee to recover is a bad thing... just pointing out the value in psychological warfare.

Marquez, Prescott, Garcia, Torrecampo and Singsurat didn't think that Khan and Pacs lives were important.

    Good post. Strategy>Brawn

Pulling a quit job and taking a full count is completely different from taking a knee to regain your senses. Unfortunately I think too many boxers as well as fans put them in the same category.

There's been a few fights where I wished the guy would take a knee to regain his composure, and especially stop the onslought.

He broke his hand. The pain made him take a quick knee.

I'm glad you brought it up. Hopkins is the king of "by any means" in boxing. It took him until age 49 to stop being a sore loser, but the man knows very static in boxing. I hope he trains the youth.

One fight that comes to mind with me was the last round in Bradley vs Provodnikov. It was super smart from Bradley because all he had to do was make it out of that fight and he was going to win. It's good clock management, just like in football (American).
