I'm confident Oscar would blast Floyd in his prime, but Pac I'm not sure. I know Oscar was alot faster back then and had some viscous power that I'm not sure Pac could have dealt with. The Oscar we got used to seeing in the last few fights was in such decline that it takes watching some of these old ones to really appreciate how good he really was. Some of the shots mosley landed on Oscar were deadly yet Oscar walked through them for the most part. And vice versa. Mosley was wobbled a couple times by his left hook but amazing chin on both of these guys. Their speed was and exchanges were lighting fast and viscous. Put most of the fighters in there today and they would've been knocked out cold.
That fight was at 154, a weight Mayweather had never fought in and a weight that was above his walking around weight. Despite this, anyone without an agenda and two eyes could see that he won at least 8 rounds. Damn near every ringside observer had Mayweather clearly winning. The 12th round that Hoya supposedly won, he was out landed by a 2/1 margin. The judge who scored the fight for Hoya scored the 10th round for Hoya despite Hoya being out landed 20-7(all the commentators, including Steward, said it was the most lopsided round of the fight up until that point.) In the 11th round, Hoya was outlanded by a 3/1 margin. Mayweather took over in the championship rounds. Hoya landed 1 meaningful punch outside of a jab the entire fight. There was a good reason no one was interested in seeing a rematch.
I can tell by your avatar that you are an avid de la hoya fan and thats whats up but im gonna throw my opinion at you and hope you dont get to upset lol. De la hoya is a known quitter, he ran against trinidad, he gave up from a monstrous body shot by hopkins (hopkins is much bigger than him and I gave Hoya all the credit in the world for taking the fight.) He got discouraged from the hard and accurate punches that mayweather hit him with which was the man reason he stopped throwing as much not fatigue but fear of getting his jab countered. (although he wasn't in his prime during the bout but its not like he was shot only 34 both pac and may are near or at this age currently. but not all situations are the same so whatever) Hoya has imo never had spectacular defense so whether he is prime or not both pac and may are gonna land hard shots. He is slower than them by a decent amount even in his prime years. He has a very suspect body that then can exploit but I dont think it'll be much of a factor as neither hit harder than oscar. I still say Floyd beats him considering the fact that mayweather gave into all of oscars demands and moved up to 154 which he never fought @ before to fight him. but pac is a huge question mark as he has very weak defense and like the golden boy has a questionable body and much shorter reach than oscar. Mayweather reach is 72 inches, Oscars is 73 inches, Pacs is 67 inches so yeah it would likely be a factor in the pac vs oscar fight and not so much in the May v ODL. would make one about mosley as well but im tired of typing lol
Pinoy Steroids - Undetectable and pretty much legal. People who use it are bullet proof. American Steroids - Illegal banned substance. Detectable and makes your ***** small Therefore: Pinoy Steroids > American Steroids.
I believe Pac would have beaten both DeLaHoya and Mosely in their primes. As great as he is I can't comfortably say that Mayweather would have beaten DeLaHoya or Mosely in their primes. Yet if he runs and jumps in and out he may pull it out against Pac. Styles make fights, so you never really known until they fight. I also believe JMM would have beaten DeLaHoya at Jr. LW and LW and Mosely and Mayweather at LW. We know Castillo and Mayweather 's first fight was very close and an old Marquez would have beaten the prime Castillo that fought Mayweather.
First, I've actually been watching that fight since it's been playing and playing for a month at my store. The punch stats were completely fuked. I saw Oscar land a ton of more shots that weren't counted. second, Even emmanual who was all over Floyd's nuts was admitting Oscar was winning the fight at around the 7-9th round and Floyd had better take it up a notch or he's gonna lose. 3rd, Even Floyd's corner kept saying, "dont' worry, we'll get him later" obviously because Oscar was more competitive than they thought he'd be and they were banking on him gassing out late in the fight. Oscar was pressing Floyd all night. Floyd was boxing but mostly throwing one punch at a time> Oscar was throwing tons of flurries and yea a lot of them didn't land, but he was getting to Floyd's face hence why his cheek/eye was all swollen unlike we've seen Floyd's face before. I had Floyd winning by 4 rounds, but there was only a couple rounds where he dominated. Oscar was in that fight all night. Floyd made the fight uninteresting because that's his style stick and run, stick and run. Oscar came forward 95% of the fight.
You still crying because golden fishnets boy toy Ortiz got Sonned by Mayweather? Get over it lady boy. :yep
Then at least you have 2 eyes and can see that Mayweather clearly won at least 8 rounds. i hate the "but he came forward the whole time" argument. It's a meaningless argument. It doesn't matter if you're coming forward, if you're getting hit and not hitting your opponent, then you're losing. Oscar probably had 15+ lbs. on Mayweather and Mayweather was coming up in weight. Not only that, but Hoya had little chance of outboxing Mayweather. His only choice was to come forward.
I have to agree. De La Hoya does better against Floyd and Shane does better against Manny, but I think both in their primes had good enough fundamentals and physical gifts to beat them.
Prime oscar is much faster than Pac. Are you kidding? Floyd may be a hair faster, maybe. But no way Pac is faster. I've seen both guys fight. Pac isn't a lightning fast puncher. He throws a ton of punchs at a fast pace but he doesn't possess the speed Oscar or Mosley had. When they pulled the trigger, it's hard to see what the fuk happened and understand why their opponents were on the canvas until the slomo. You say he's a quitter? Did he quit against Quartey? Floyd? Mosley twice? just to name a few. The trinidad fight was Oscar trying to protect his lead and dance his way to a win and he never did that again. Yea, he threw the fight with Hopkins but he shouldn't have been in the same ring with him.
