Hey Penishead. I got them as a present actually from the same kid i sparred for fun with. He's pretty new to boxing by then, so he just chose a pair of gloves that fitted him. He didnt knew better. We werent really sparring, but was just pulling punches for fun, and got out of control i guess. I think this tread is getting out of track anyways.
What? Boxing needs banning or new safety rules because some little kid nearly knocked you out? Jog on, this sport is not for you.
It's like someone saying "I love Formula 1 but don't you think they should slow down a bit, looks a bit dangerous" He's a ****ing pleb
My wife has actually been craving it. She'll be trying to make it soon, i'll try and remember to PM you if it works out. As far as the gloves, what change would you suggest? They go back to bareknuckle? You throw in modern training techniques, nutrition, things of the sort, you're asking for horrific internal injuries.
LOL.. Yea i see your point. Im an idiot, lets move on. That wasnt the point of this tread. But the punch resistant of these fighters as some1 mentioned. its fking amazing Pac VS Cotto was on 8 oz. wasnt it? And there was a lot of action there.. Damm..
When you are in shape and in great condition you can take shots that would normally floor an average guy. I think Pac/Cotto used 8oz Cleto's yeah, a great glove.
You sound like a child, However, if you were a grown man then you would havbe the ability to make choices for yourself. You can make the decision wethere you want punched in the head or not. If you don't like it, dont make the choice. "I don't mind if boxing gets banned" WTF? Makes about as much sense as saying I love my mum, but I dont care if she gets killed....
I don't think that the banning of the sport would be of any help to be honest, it would lead to lots more unlicensed matches and stuff, which would not be half as safe as boxing matches are now, as there would be no commission or anything. That's why we have refs and doctors standing around in boxing matches, so that if anything happens that could hurt the boxer in later life the fight can be stopped. However you also have to think, it's what the people want to do..We go into the sport knowing outright the risks of it. But back to the point, some boxers punch resistance are amazing. You have to be fully prepared both mentally and physically to be hit with some of the shots boxers do.
So you want regulations yet chose to spar someone wearing 8 oz gloves? Were you even wearing headgear? Mouthpiece? Do you have any clue on how to defend yourself? How to roll with punches?
I have a feeling the answer to this question is a resounding no. The kid probably has little to no formal boxing training. Otherwise he wouldn't have been sparring with his friend in his back yard with 8 oz gloves.
