You mean like how Zab Judah was pissed after Tzyu punched him into another reality where he was fine to continue. Or how Byrd was pissed after he was stopped vs Ibeabuchi claiming he wasn't even dropped. Yeah Takam was pissed he's a warrior, he wanted to go out on his shield but he was clearly hurt not once but twice and wasn't defending himself.
Let's just put detailed stats of both boxers into a high-powered computer and run simulations. More Covid-secure too...
If that was the rule boxing would have far more tragedies personally I don't think it's worth the trade off. The stoppage was fine, if he hadn't been rocked for a 2nd time then yeah it would of been a dubious stoppage but fact is he was rocked again and just like after being rocked the first time he was probably going to spend the next 30 seconds getting beaten up and honestly I don't think he would of lasted another 10 seconds let alone 30.
How many times did Castillo go down vs Corrales? How many times did Chuvalo go down vs Foreman? You can be stopped without going down if it's clear you can't defend yourself and are taking shot after shot like Takam was.
So should refs ignore the rules, if it's not their job to enforce the rules of the sport, who's job is it? You disagreeing with them doesn't make your point valid, your opinion doesn't change the rules. How you "feel" isn't as important as the rules. Now you can share your opinion but that's all it is.
More people get hurt at bicycling, the luge, gymnastics, surfing, and horseback riding. Stop being a wimp.
While the talk of fighter deaths and permanent injuries being okay for entertainment is idiotic and pethatic, I agree that Takam should’ve had another chance. Standing 8 counts should be brought back, this way fighters who take severe punishment without going down can both be saved and given another chance to continue.
Id wager every boxer gets hurt in every fight so those stats are bollocks Wimp? Sure Your well hard watching punches bro lol
