Rampage , Rashad , and Kimbo.

This may be the very best season to date.

Yeah MMA did lose some credibilty. They were talking about how easy it would be to take apart a boxer in an MMA match becasue he's limited and all that, and here you have a pretty young (33) yr old former UFC champion facing an old (48) washed up boxer who was champ about 18yrs ago. The boxer owned him. Not saying that an MMA guy can't beat a boxer but it goes to show that a good boxer is a fighter to be reckoned with and MMA is not nearly as dominant as they want to believe. Not dominant at all really.

that pretty young former UFC champion was 50lbs overweight and thought he could hang with Mercer. How did MMA can lose credibility in that?

How is Kimbo a complete bum. He has the odd good win. The Mercer win must surely be considered impressive now.

    :huh

How is putting a Glass Jawed street fighter on TUF a smart move?

Kimbo is awful. He has no Chin, no stamina, and no heart.

I guess the same people that watch WWF would like this but nobody else.

I disagree, there is a dark cloud over MMA as a whole right now. But if you look at it its just because of a few things.

I don't think there was a time that people actually liked Sylvia. I will go to the grave saying that Brandon Vera didn't beat him only because he suffered a broken hand in the opening of Round 1.

And enter Kimbo, another shitty heavyweight. We have all known the HW division has sucked for years, now we have some promising talent like Brock Lesnar, Mir looked like he seriously improved, Randy Couture will still give some good fights, And Valesquez, Carwin, and a few more talents are promising.

So let the UFc make their money off of a few bums because I think some really good HW fights are going to happen yet.

As far as the UFC goes they don't have another division that isn't exciting. LHW is insane you can't predict who is going to is going to have the belt in a months time.

MW is full of great up and comers like Maia, Marquardt, Bisping. And of course the MMA king pin himself Anderson Silva.

WW has GSP at the top of the food chain, has yet to have had his toughest fights yet.

LW is a shark pool of talent I don't even need to name names.

And to brighten things up we all stand a good chance of seeing Kimbo get KTFO in the next few months.

Nope. If you look at the Sylvia fight vs the Kimbo fight, Mercer was in two situations. I also gotta ask, could Ray Mercer KO Sylvia again in 9 seconds?

Sylvia is dumb and should have fought Mercer like a real MMA superstar would have. Mercer will get publicity but will fall short of his expectations on his next opponent.

What for? How does that give Kimbo more leverage because Tim got KO'ed? For the life of me il never understand such stupid logic. This is the fight game. ANYTHING can happen. Kimbo fought an aged boxer who was so old he was spitting dust. That being said i think Kimbo has the right attitude and is physically blessed and despite his short stint in MMA has done VERY well. BUT things must be put into a healthy perspective. If this was 10 years ago Kimbo would still be beating up tin cans. It was only Gary Shaw and EliteXC that gave him the leverage he has now off the back of a bunch of Youtube videos. Speaks volumes about the pathetic genre that follows this sport. They have as much depth as a puddle of spit.

You mean the UFC heavy division historically has been ****. There were MANY great heavies out there. They just were not fighting for the UFC and stayed in other orgs because the money was better. The UFC's glamour division has always been **** apart from the few names in the early days some of which left to go to PRIDE.

Yeah pretty much. As far back as I can remember there hasn't been anyone good. They used to promote Tank Abbott for **** sakes.

Pretty much sums up the UFC. I mean Tank Abbott? Dan Severn? And a bunch of fat sumo wrestlers? Everyone who was someone left for PRIDE. Coleman Randleman Rizzo Barnett Rutten Goodridge etc.

I'm not disputing that the top heavyweights left the UFC to, or simply bypassed the UFC, to go to PRIDE. I just have to say that Severn and Abbott made their names in the UFC just before Coleman, Randleman, Rizzo, Barnett, Frye, or Goodridge.

Severn made his first appearance in UFC IV. Severn made his way to the tournament finals, where he was choked out by Royce Gracie. Severn went on to win UFC V, and then the UFC's first Ultimate Ultimate a few events later.

Abbott made it to the finals of his first UFC Tournament, losing to Oleg Taktarov in an entertaining battle at UFC VI. Abbott also made it to the finals of the Ultimate Ultimate '96, losing a quick shoot-out by submission after flooring Don Frye. Abbott earned much of his recognition, and would have been highly rated if mma rankings existed back then. Not that a true ranking system is in place now, but that's another discussion.

Frye, Goodridge, and Coleman joined the group a few UFCs later.

UFC wants to make money and Kimbo is a decent sized name and will bring in money for awhile.

By the way who do you guys think are the current best heavy fighters in mma?
