This is a recycled clip that has been posted with the same theme on this Forum before. And not that long ago. A little bit of humor now and then is fine, but Come on!! Provide us with something new!!
That shadow boxing was so laughable that if I was a judge I would’ve scored it for the shadow on points.
I never said there is no difference. There’s a huge difference in punching styles. My point is that if Carnera threw those same punches, there would be another bone to pick.
Like Wladimir said, Joshua could be CrossFit champion. I'm more impressed by his boxing career and the KO of Povetkin though. None of the non-boxing gym stuff impresses me much at all. Boxing is a far more difficult task to master.
Not sure if serious. Compare him to Lennox Lewis, Buster Douglas, Tony Tucker, Tyson Fury or even Anthony Joshua Shadowboxing . Everything is tighter and more coordinated. I have no doubt that guys like Archie Moore, gene tunney, ezzard Charles were master boxers who would still be great today but this clip doesn't impress me at all
TBH it's basically case closed. Primo Carnera doing some sort of power drill doesn't look as fast as Joshua doing a totally different speed drill, so obviously all modern boxers are way better than all past boxers.
1941 excellent footage, two hacks, interestingly they don't look Any Different from 2 Hacks TODAY... also a mention of SUPER Heavyweight, interesting. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?...D0FDBD50CE609A3DE82BD0FDBD50CE60&&FORM=VRDGAR can someone get this to be automatically opened
1920s Thai Boxing. though speedy they look quite as you are used too. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?...AE03739368EC20FA67CDAE03739368EC&&FORM=VRDGAR
Awful thread. That clip of Carnera is clearly not proper shadow boxing, looks to me like an exercise were he throws all his weight and motion into each punch and turns it's more of a fitness exercise than a technique exercise. And before anyone labels me a Carnera fanboy or similar I've watched some of his fights from back in the day and he would have gotten beat up by modern HW's.
you are right, these ARE Exercise type displays for the Public and Cinema Viewers… there is Footage of GREB, J Johnson, McAvoy and God knows how many other doing the same thing, you can see they are 'emphasised exaggerated' moves for the Camera and also at the request of the Film Makers/Operators... I've said it a Million Times, it's NOT the Fighters that are were poor, it was the Film and/or Operators filming it. just look at any Old ACTION Footage of damn near any of life's activities and it doesn't look right, again because the film, and/or operators failed to capture it.
