It is ****ing comedy... the fact that Bazooka is saying it was okay for Margo to cheat because he makes fights exciting is hilarious.

How can you question Brickfist by asking him how does he know? But then turn around and say that all he used was a knucklepad...HOW THE **** DO YOU KNOW? btw...if it was just a knucklepad, they wouldn't need to wait until March to say it...but obviously there was something suspect about what they found.:deal

The facts do not add up in Margorito's advantage. He should not have had the pads, and the use of old pads for a fighter who makes millions each fight points to foul play.

    Lets be honest.

The hardest of the whole glove/hand situation is the bones in the fist. The point of the illegal pads he used was to make the connection between his fists and his opponents more solid. If he HAD actually used plaster of paris, it STILL wouldn't be as hard as the bones in his fist, so it comes down to the same thing using the semi-hard pads.

There's no excuse. He cheated and got caught. I don't hate the guy, but that's the risk you run when you do this sort of thing.

The difference is . . . His wraps are legal according to the rules . . . And the point is to lessen the force of his punches (protect his hands) not the other way around, so in essence it actually decreases the effectiveness of his punches.

They said on FNF today that Muhamad Ali used to use sponge pads over his knuckles when he wrapped, and I thought anything other than using gauze and tape was illegal?

Guys I'm being serious here, from what I'm gathering of the facts as they have come out, what Margarito used as a pad on his knuckles was not really a special type of a pad, but just the legal gauze that a fighter can use on his hands........

.......apparently what Capetillo did that was wrong was moisten the rolled up gauze so that he could compress it nice and firm......

.....the only protocol that was'nt followed here is that moisture was used on the rolled up pad that was placed over the knuckles and then covered by dry gauze.

The fact that water was used to compress that gauze is what makes it illegal......but what I'm gathering is that Capetillo never hid the fact that he was inserting that rolled up piece of moistened gauze on Margarito's hands.

......the CSAC inspector was right there when he did it....
......I'm really starting to question whether Capetillo even knew that he could'nt moisten that gauze pad......he never hid it from the inspector.
The inspector saw the whole thing.

Exactly. Not to mention the fact that the CSAC suspended both Margie and Capetillo for a year, so obviously they thought there was something more serious than a soft knuckle pad or some wet gauze in those wraps. I honestly don't know what was in them, nor does anybody else here but maybe we'll find out in March.
