its not often that a boxer of that sort of calibre (roy jones) goes down and out in 1 round, especially against someone lets all face it isn't that good in danny green. I don't think anyone would be surprised if it came out that roy jones took a dive.
Right punch,right time in the right spot. Roy was way past his prime. Doubt he took a dive they expected the RJJ-Hopkins rematch to make 10 mill after what Green did to him it made a bit over 3 mill I read and Hopkins nearly got all of that apparently.
I heard Roy was not happy with the glove situation before the fight and didn't want to come out. Phil Austin came in and told him he was gonna get dq if didn't go out and wouldn't get paid. Roy came out and didn't look like he warmed up. Then went down probably the easiest his been down in his career. Not 1 person who I was watching it with believed that it was legit.
Im no Green fan but he hit Roy behind the ear from memory. He got back up was disorientated and didn't fire back when Green went in for the kill. The loaded gloves etc. was to salvage the Hopkins rematch. Lots of people have gone down from similar shots.
