punch stats in any fight don't tell the whole story. two guys sitting there press keys on a computer who dksab.
If Lara is stupid enough to use compubox as evidence that he won, he just shot himself in the foot. Those statistics show that Lara landed 10 shots more than Canelo, but they also show that those pitty pats were connected during the first 3 rounds. From rounds 4-12, Canelo had the bigger connect numbers. If compubox is all Lara has then he has nothing so stop the whining.
People are trying to say Lara loss because they dont "like" the way he fought....just cause you dont like it dont mean he loss, Canelo won cause he's Canelo, not cause he did anything convincing in the ring.
The thing is, Lara was even less convincing. Not only did he failed to convince the judges but the majority of viewers seem to think he lost.
neither fighter did **** how about that? If Lara was bad then Canelo was equally bad, criticize them both for being dreadful!!
overall...no. in that moment...yes. it's a natural reaction that the defensive greats learn to overcome or substitute with actual defense.
i watched the fight with a bunch of ppl who thought canelo lost. it didn't stop them from celebrating when he was announced the winner.
I'm amazed he was able to keep count of all the punches he landed during the fight as well as Canelo's to know when the final bell rung he had landed more. Maybe if he had spent less time keeping track of how many punches were landing and instead threw more punches he might have not done just enough to lose.
Lara connected with many straight lefts which is his bread and butter power punch. He caught Canelo with at least a dozen 2 & e pinch combinations throughout the fight. Honestly, I wish Lara had sat down on more of his punches and counter punched more effectively. He passed up 4-5 opportunities to land his power straight left when he made Canelo miss with all those lead uppercuts.
My thoughts exactly. He is literally saying that he won because he landed more punches. That is his sole argument if you can believe that.
