While I agree the ref has no right to tell a fighter to continue...it's the fighter's choice and at the end of the day Foreman happy to continue. The corner can't pull a fighter out unless he agrees to it. Apart from his knee, he wasn't seriously hurt, was able to keep his hands up and defend himself. Fighters have carried on in situations much much worst than foreman's knee and won (like Williams against Potter).

The only appaulling thing in that fight was what happened after the towel was thrown in. Camera crews, trainers, managers everyone and his dog jumped into the ring acting like the fight was over. No ones allowed in unless the ref says so. And to make it worst, when he told them all to get out, half of them still stayed in their like they weren't in the wrong. The TV crews should have been fined or repremanded, it really made the fight at that point look like a farce.

 

And the point Hauser didn't answer...if the corner really wanted to pull Foreman out, why did they treat his cuts and send him back out twice? They obviously had a change of heart.

:rofl The knee was completely blown out and required surgery. No mobility, the key to his style, no chance of throwing a power shot to win because he couldn't push off of it, but yeah, other than that.... :rofl

 

If you were Foreman, which post fight scenario would you prefer? "My corner thew in the towel because I blew out my knee and couldn't move" or "I was KO'd by a body shot".
