Tommy doesn't know boxing history much. What is it with Emanual and Tommy overrating Foreman and Duran?
Thomas Hearns’ Top-Ten Greatest Fighters Of All-Time

    1: Muhammad Ali

    2: Joe Frazier

    3: Thomas Hearns

    4: Roberto Duran

    5: Wilfred Benitez

    6: Sugar Ray Leonard

    7: Mike Tyson

    8: Floyd Mayweather

    9: George Foreman

    10: Marvin Hagler

He put all the fighters he fought in the top 10.. I love Tommy but come on. Roberto Duran number 4???? More overrating.. I can see how he would put himself in there, but if you eliminate his name he puts Duran 3 ever. And Frazier at 2? Mayweather 8? Benitez 5.. Yeah really objective there Tommy!!!!!!

Aww give Tommy a break, he got punched in the head a lot.

It does make you wonder about some of the old famous boxing quotes and whether half of them are just throwaway **** talk as well.

Aside from Tyson (who grew up with Jacobs and Cayton, their movie film library, and Cus D'Amato as his babysitters), just how many living champions in the sport are competent boxing historians anyway? (Who can talk about it, which sort of rules out Ali.)

most fighter are going to do this and rate their era the best. I don't see anything wrong with it. Pretty much this list is more the fighters Thomas Hearns respects and admires.

honestly. I always rated Tommy high. I honestly think his resume and wins are just as good as anyone in history. He won 3 of his world titles against Cueves (10 defenses) Benitez (3 x champ) and Virgil Hill 10 defenses and undefeated. Not to mention beating Duran and being the first man to win 4 and 5 titles. He fought the best.

As for rating himself? Most fighters would rate themselves high. When they ask Roberto Duran who is the greatest fighter ever he says he is and doesn't smile. That is what he believes. Most believe they are the best or near it.

I never knew Tommy rated Duran and Benitez so high in the rankings. Funny how he rates Ray lower than Duran and Benitez. And Hagler is at ten, but in reality he really shows admiration for them to put them all in here. And Floyd Mayweather. The only contemporary fighter in his list. It is an admiration list of his favorite fighters probably.
