I think it is a very tough fight ... Hearns is over rated here above 154 ... Briscoe had an iron chin and was tough as hell ... he'd survive the early rounds and wear Hearns down .. likely win a decision of a late stoppage is possible ..

Tommy is always going to have issues with the Briscoe type of fighter.

Although brilliant at what he did, it always seemed he was programmed by Manny and was unable to adapt a tactic himself in a fight. Plus sometimes he did get too excited and brawled with fighters that he did not need to.

But is Briscoe sharp enough to give Hearns real issues?

I suspect The Hitman would build an early lead, no doubt get involved with Briscoe when he does not need to, as the fight goes on, but still despite the odd scare, he should win a fairly comfortable decision.

Other times Hearns went straight thru superb to great chins. We can find fluctuations on any punchers record. Off nights, stylistic intangibles and a forgotten one here - Hearns had numerous injury drama's with his right hand and actually lost the confidence to throw it with full abandon in some fights.

Agree, I do not think we saw a proper Motor City Cobra right hand, post Shuler.
