Even now I’d still go with Hearns. Fundora has learned how to use his reach, but only against guys who are comically smaller than him, and he’s able to get away with the fact he’s unathletic. How’s he gonna deal with a guy who can reach him, and is also much faster and great at setting up long punches from range? I suspect not very well.
He needs more wins vs top Jr MW's to earn that distinction IMO. He CAN be a monster, but jury is still out.
I know it was just Thurman he beat, but he used his size very well. Maybe the best use of it in a while.
Fundora is too easy to hit and at 54 he would be facing the very best version of TH. Hearns inside the distance.
I like Fundora a lot. Seems like a good guy and he's getting better. That said, Hearns leaves him flat on the canvas. Brutally.
