WTF? Is this the first time two brothers have fought each other in MMA? Or even in boxing?

Maximum Fighting Championship has announced an unprecedented heavyweight match-up between two brothers for the upcoming MFC 37: True Grit event scheduled for Friday, May 10, at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Brothers Thomas and Mike Treadwell, who live together in Edmonton, will make their pro MMA debut against one another on the MFC 37 undercard.
MFC president Mark Pavelich weighed in:

Absolutely, undeniably, one of the craziest and most anticipated fights in MFC history. Who hasnt wondered what it would be like to watch two brothers fight? I remember from my own childhood, the most violent fights I was ever involved in myself were against my brother. Wed practically tear the house down because I was the younger brother out to prove myself against the older brother. I have a distinct feeling Treadwell vs. Treadwell will have that Prove whos really the toughest mentality and be a spectacularly wild fight.

A former member of the Canadian Armed Forces, Mike Treadwell, 30, said, Were taking brotherhood to the next level. It doesnt matter the names of the competitors brothers are fighting, thats all it will take to get people excited.

Thomas Treadwell, a specialty mechanic 10 years the junior of his brother Mike, said, This is something were excited about, and I think people are going to be very excited to see.

A third brother, Ross, will be cornering Thomas during the bout.
Not everyone is supportive of the match-up, most notably Thomas and Mikes father. Dad was angry and thinks were idiots. Mom knows but we dont talk about it with her. Everyone else seems supportive, said Thomas.

On the flip side, Kenny vs. Keith Florian would be the only Kenny Florian fight without annoying constant screaming in the background.
