:deal Top post, and bang on the nail imo. Bellew acted a scorcher today and sold the fight very well, can see the hyep being some 'goody two shows' mathematic whizkid boxer vs the working 'mans man' brawler. The hype will be crazy and the pressers even more eventful and fills out the men with gavin and degale on the bill in 4-6 months time...

I have respect for any fighter that steps in as a late substitute, however every fighter knows there body and the realistic chances of making a certain weight in a certain amount of time.
If he doubted (which i guess he did) , that he couldn't make the weight then he shouldn't have been so loud and aggressive in the presser. He should have maybe let everyone know that he will be killing himself to make the weight, that it would be difficult but he would do anything for a shot at a title. Instead of drawing a crowd to a fight im thinking he knew he couldn't make.

He did a great job of hyping it up for a later date at least. I hope Bomber flattens him if/when it does come off:bbb

Is is possible that Tony hates Clev so much he'd go down to London knowing there's no way he could make the weight just to argue at a press conference & mess with his preparations?

I'm not saying they are pals but I think its far more likely that he tried & failed to get close to the limit & Clev chose to fight someone else

Bellew claims when it was first suggested he got on it and the weight was dropping off quickly but come today he had hit the wall, believable imo. You could see at the presser he was heavily drawn just by his dark eyes alone. He tried to take his big chance but it didn't happen.

Some people seem to spend 90% of their time on here pissed off about something. I guess it may as well be this as anything else.

He was clearly telling porkies. According to him he was 6 1/2 pounds over..24 hours later he is 7 pounds over.

For people who are calling me for not making weight I'd lost 13 of 20 pounds needed, I wanted more time but after spending 2 1/2 hours in the sauna and only losing 1/2 pound it was not moving anymore! Anyone who thinks I'm lying then you all know members of my team watched me do it, I had 48hrs, I tried as hard as I could and was willing to put it all on the line, I wasn't being disrespectful at all, I was called a bum and then that's when it went a bit crazy!! I'm far far from a bum and tried my best to give the fans a fight they wanted to see.

I respect the board saying enough is enough as they are concerned and liable should I get injured so I will not dispute there decision, I'm truly gutted I couldn't shift that last 6/7 pounds I really am!! All I'll say about it is I gave it everything I possibly could.. Sorry to people I let down too! :(

It's nice to see you come out and say that on the boards. Obviously we would have all loved to see the fight and maybe your reputation has taken a bang because of this. But it's good you're not staying away and listening to all the hate on here.

Frankly the one who caused all this is Jurgen Brahmer who is probably laughing right now at the commotion his pull out has caused.

Understandably you've been chasing the Cleverly fight for a long time and you wanted to do everything in your power to lose the weight, problem is Tony you came across as TOO confident that you'd lost it when it was announced the fight was made.

In a few months this will be put to bed, the best thing to do is to take out your frustration on Ovil McKenzie and eventually you'll get that shot at Cleverly if you keep winning.

    Good luck.
