Prov didn't win more than 4 rounds. I guess he gained some sympathy from the judges with all the blood. But it's not big deal.
I had Matthysse winning pretty easily, the punch stats showed it................look at Matthysse's face and compare with Provodnikov. Provodnikov would knock Garcai out cold.................
Lucas made it closer than it needed to be when he stopped moving and traded with Ruslan. Matthysse landed more shots and was in control for most of the fight, but then he'd **** up and let Provodnikov land those murderous bombs. Provodnikov has little T-Rex arms. Lucas should have kept stepping to the side and boxing from long range. Provo can't cut off a ring and Matthysse could've kept banking rounds. Whenever Lucas stopped boxing, he let Ruslan back into the fight and gave him an opportunity to steal rounds.
I had Lucas winning a hard fought fight, 7-5 in rounds. Ruslan is one tough SOB. Maybe to tough for his own good. I get the feeling he won't know how to tie his shoes in a decade. He takes some huge shots, and just keeps coming. Made me wince at times.
I just rewatched the 12th and gave it to Lucas. The only rounds I gave Ruslan were 4,8 and 11 9-3 Matthysse
I felt it was close Provodnikov is a very tough guy No one in or around his weight class can stand and trade with that guy in my opinion

The people who had this a draw don't know how to score a fight. Jabs matter and do count as scoring blows. Apparently to some people, jabs don't count. And those jabs were snapping Provo's head back. It was a boxing clinic for the most part. Draw my ass. Yes, I'm saying Lederman is blind, I could give a rat's ass if he's on TV, and maybe he should think about retiring. Thank goodness he's not scoring championship fights for real. Lampley doesn't know the difference between a landed punch and a blocked punch as well. Total clown act by the announcing team. It was pretty clear who HBO wanted to win, and it wasn't Lucas. I don't see how anybody takes their comments and scoring seriously.
