Granted a 15 round format he is arguably the 2nd best welterweight H2H in the last 25 years, limited as he was.
I don't think Tito was an ATG fighter, but HOF yes. Against Oscar and Hopkins he looked a little outclassed, yet against lesser guys likes Blocker and Campas and Joppy he looked great..
Tito had some boxing skills. He had a good jab and he could hook off of it. His punching technique was nice. He was a slugger/boxer. His footwork was predictable and that's where Hopkins took advantage. Hopkins outclassed him but I don't think Oscar did. DelaHoya`s performance was overated. They both looked like **** in that fight. Neither guy really deserved to win.
unbeaten in ten years of fighting pro. undefeated as welterweight and jr. middle. 15 successful welter title defenses.
Hall of Famer - obviously ATG - Yes, but lower-tiered I'd say... You don't win your first 40 fights, 20 of them Championship fights and NOT be an ATG.... It took a Top 5 Middleweight Champion of ALL TIME(Hopkins) to tame him, no shame there....... He wouldn't have beaten Robinson, Leonard, Hearns, but after that I'd put him up with the rest....
They are all the same kind of level (except Whitaker if you take his prime) Despite their marketing none were ever upper end elite level fighters, none were ever top 5 P4P type fighters, despite what RING magazine might have claimed back then. Not in the same class as your Mayweather, Roy Jones and Ronald Wrights. Comfortably below that.
Basically I think Tszyu would have out classed all three and you feel those three would all have outclassed Tszyu. Strong difference of opinion on that generation of WWs I guess, to the extent you don't even believe my views are serious!
