Thoughts on JCC Jr

He looks good but until he takes a real drug test he will be suspect in my eyes. The Texas commission is a joke and so is their testing.

 

i didnt think much of him one year ago after the zbik fight.

obviously, hes an entirely different fighter now than he was then.

im loving jr at +money against martinez.

 

he took the test after the lee fight.

give the guy credit for an excellent fight.

 

I am not going to lie. Julio is better and tougher fighter than I expected.
I have focused too much on those bad fights he had earlier on his career and let those affect too much on my opinion about him. I should have concentrate more how he has matured as a fighter and getting better little by little in every fight lately.

He is a solid fighter in very good division no doubt about it.

So I got to give my credit for this young fighter, he is proving me and ALOT of other doubters wrong fight by fight.

I still think there are guys who are better than him and would beat him at middle but kid is doing very very good.

 

I'll agree they are journeyman level, certainly no elite, but most of the elite guys in divisions don't seem to fight that much anymore, sadly. I'm not a fan of Jr., was rootingfor Lee last nite actually, but I am slowly being impressed by the kid knocking down all the bottles in front of him(not cans). Obviously his management has been very slow in increasing his comp, bu here he is and he seems to be getting better. So, he'll either have at it with the likes of Martinez and GGG or Pirog or Quillin or he'll be moving up..... Hopefully not resetting his level of comp.
