I just watched Johnny Bumphus vs Marlon Starling yesterday and thought to myself that Duva was the biggest crybaby in the history of cornerman. Having said that, he's one of those guys you hate but would love to have on your side in a corner because he didn't wait until after a fight to go off. If he perceived his fighter was getting a raw deal, he would attempt to intervene on the spot (between rounds).

Say what you want about the man as a trainer, but behind the scenes Lou is a very funny man.

Lou Duva should be ashamed @ what he did to Frankie ******. ****** beat McGirt in their first fight but in the 2nd fight Duva changed ******s style, leading ****** to certain defeat. ****** was an aggressive swarmer, Duva, told ****** to box McGirt. It played right into McGirt's hands. McGirt was a boxer-puncher, sharp-shooter. Duva told ****** to jab McGirt, and McGirt took advantage of ******'s arkwardness and potshotted ****** into a tko defeat. Before you say "aw thats crap!" Duva made a business decision he had Meldrick Taylor, waiting his turn, Taylor would have had major problems with ******, McGirt was the lesser of two evils for Taylor. Duva was a smart cookie he sacrificed ****** to make Taylor the champ. ******, tried to swarm McGirt, in a couple of rds but was told to jab and not go to war. What is always said in boxing 'NEVER CHANGE A FIGHTERS STYLE' and Duva did. It's sad because ****** was a good kid, the following year ****** had to retire because he had two detached retina's. Guess who won the title from McGirt, Meldrick Taylor. Duva as a cornerman was a great businessman.

How exactly was Taylor going to have major problems with ******?

Taylor would have shut ****** out. 2 punches to 1, each round, every round.

Check it out at 1:00:30 or so. Duva attacks Mayweather and gets knocked on his ass.

I think Duva was an ass, but I will say he was a good cornerman for his fighters in having their back.

Was that cut on Duva's cheek from a Roger Mayweather punch?

Yeah he deserved that, you don't go attacking a fighter, especially after he fought 12 rounds.

Must be talking about Frankie ******, but I think Buddy would've beaten him anyway.

Duva looked suspiciously like Barney Rubble.

I saw both McGirt-W****** fights and W****** completely whitewashed Buddy in their first fight. I think i gave Frankie every round, so I was a bit stunned at the 2nd fight. That's not to say fighters haven't come back after a pasting with a different plan and beat their previous tormenter, but it's a good conspiracy theory and let's face it, there's not to many choir boys behind closed doors.
