Thoughts on Pac vs Marquez 3

I highly doubt Marquez prepared for his fight with Katsadis as he did for Pac... it was the preparation which had Marquez fighting the way he did.

Why can't people see that jmm is the first live body that Pac has fought in years. He uses intelligent footwork and counters to outbox Pac. Manny isn't faded he just fought a guy that doesn't play his game to allow him to look spectacular. With that said pbf beats any version of Pac and makes it look easy.

Yes to give credit to Marquez, he's an exceptional boxer, this has always been the case-- no one has questioned his skill. But he performed much better than expected at the weight. The "he's too big, too improved and strong" for Marquez was under the notion that even if Marquez could come in better physically conditioned , Pacquiao would be too much for him. No excuses, all the glory for Marquez. again, I was rooting for him, I just think he had too of an easy time with Pacquiao considering their history together and where each fighter has gone since.
if you compare their last two fights in comparison to this third fight. In In terms of each fighter's performance, what changed? Marquez pretty much used the blue print of the first two fights and performed just as well, specifically closer to the second fight. The main difference in my eyes was that Pacquiao did not fight with the same intensity which created opportunities for himself and problems for Marquez.

 

He seemed to take the punches just as well if not better than in the last fights. I guess he never got hit with as clean shots than he did in their earlier contests. Still... the way Mosley raved of his power. We all think Pac's power has improved with weight and Marquez took them well. I get what you're saying, though.

 

Waiting on Manny to decline...lol, Steward went on and on about how fast Manny was and how strong he looked etc. Declined...lol, or is it that he was fighting a complete **** bag? I wouldn't be interested in Floyd fight either if I were you...

 

To be fair pac rarely landed any meaningful shots for marquez to truly feel his power. All the time i was shouting for marquez to not leave his head out when he throws the left hook and the majority of the time when he threw that punch he got away with it as pac was not surprisingly quick enough to capitalise on marquez leaving his chin exposed.

Dude, how can you give Powerpuncher his dues and then knock him for claiming he has prejudices against non African-American fighters? That's just low, and simply untrue. If anything, he has a bit more of an affinity toward boxer-types than aggressive brawler, I'd say.

 

That's how it would seem. That's why all of this seems a little shocking. I don't think Pac's skill have declined. They've improved. I think his intensity and killer instinct are all but gone. This nice guy that touches gloves all the time and goes into the ring has become a nice guy in the ring. I don't buy he just aged overnight. He didn't seem to try to put Marquez out of his comfort. Ariza must feel like a jackass for some of the things he said and all the praising he did of Pac on how Pac is a "different animal" and how Marquez couldn't win even with divine intervention. It turns out, he couldn't win without unfair judges.

 

i hate to admit it but marquez won on my scorecard.

 

Pac did a decent job of counter Marquez with a right hook. Not a weapon he really had in the last 2 fights. But in general he seemed to just fight stupidly. I mean, for as well as Marquez did and he performed beautifully. What was the punch output of Pac in this fight in comparison to their other 2 fights? That's something I'd be curious to find out. It would tell a whole a lot about some difference in my eyes.
