I never said you called him a big name, but he is acting as if he is some big name that should have got recognition in the uk, when he hasn't accomplished much You get air time, reviews and appreciated when you make a name for yourself in the fcking ring on the big stage. You have to start from the bottom and work your way up it's not handed to you on a silver plate. That's what this clown needs to understand and the he ain't going to get a fanbase with that attitude.
He's 34, DoubleEdge. He's not looking for a 'fanbase' I don't suppose, any more than he already has one. He's cashing out being sponsored by Mayweather gym to provide sparring and so on and having whatever remaining fights appeal and make financial sense. Anyone in his position would do the same and enjoy a sponsored lifestyle while they could. Again, bit of a difference between being a fighter and a fan.
That right? Cos I've seen a hell of a lot of air time for Hosea Burton , romeo Romaeo , that kid Ohara Davies... All of whom have achieved nothing. No, you get the recognition largely based upon who is backing you, on the whole. Fact is he was a British champion with 2 defences behind him & was close to being an outright holder. The public (boxing) didn't know a lot about him because he wasn't a media machine, and someone in the USA saw something in him & off he went, I'd dare say he has made a good whack more than Darren Hamilton since they fought. And if he hasn't , at least he's living HIS dream.
