7 weeks.....Rome wasn't built in one day. There were subtle changes I saw that had him in better position and he used the jab a little more intelligently but the biggest thing was that he responded well to Teddy's instructions.
Without a doubt. I was dubious about Atlas's ability to take a fighter and make fundamental changes at such an advanced stage of his career, but color me convinced. That isn't to say that he would have had the same results vs another fighter, Rios was clearly not on his game, but the effort and commitment to the gameplan was there from Bradley, and Rios didn't have it in him to push Bradley to veer off course.
What makes Rios a shot fighter and when did he become shot? He has always taken a lot of shots but he also was able to give as good as he got. It didn't happen with Bradley because Bradley fought a different fight tonight. He fought JMM the same way he fought Rios but I think that he had a couple of new wrinkles in his game plan against Rios. Bradley did what Pac couldn't do and that's stop Rios. Yeah, Bradley has always been a decent fighter but tonight he was an exceptional fighter.
I watched that fight back then. He fought very well. But if I remember right, he fought more of an in your face pressure style than we saw tonight. I could be wrong, it was 5 or 6 years ago. Fact is we haven't seen anything like The way Bradley fought tonight in ages, if at all. I'm not a Teddy fan, but you can't argue with the results. His fighter was disciplined, and committed to the gameplan. And it showed.
Rios didn't have much in there to be fair, but the improvements in Bradley's game were fairly obvious. He looked in better condition than his last few fights in terms of his general sharpness. He was still aggressive, but was aggressive in positions that allowed him to maintain his defense, particularly on the inside where he pretty much smothered everything Rios was doing while landing nice little counters and withering body shots. Atlas would tell him what to do in the corner, such as hitting Rios with the left hook at an angle instead of standing in front of Rios, and Bradley would go out and execute. No real wild punches throughout. I think Bradley would have beaten Rios either way, but he definitely looked improved.
You could tell Tim's punches had more pop to them in round one, it wasn't Atlas that had the effect, it was the power that inhibited Rios from coming forward as much.
pp Shut the **** up with that Khan ****. He has done nothing and him, his dad and his cab driving uncles are all *****es and so are you buddy. Suck my American made 8 inch alabama black snake.
