Yeah it's a bit annoying that it just seems to get used for UK prospects when there are good fighters around the region. Even Wadi Camacho won it which is a complete joke yet far better fighters outside the UK don't get a sniff at it.
Durodola, Oosthuizen or Mchunu never got a shot for example, hell neither did Tommy McCarthy and he's a Brit although he's ahead of that stage now too.
At least he did it in a single round like someone of his caliber should, but it's obvious now that Broadhurst has some china in that chin.
Instead of being the secondary Brit title the Commonwealth belt could mean a lot more like how the Commonwealth Games is in the amateurs.
Broadhurst is undersized, chinny, glass jawed and a quitter. He basically goes down from the first solid punch that lands in all of his losses. He has absolutely no punch resistance and doesn't like to get hit. He should retire from boxing. If you don't want to get hit, fine, don't box. It's pathetic. I really can't say if i ever saw anybody like this.
The talent pool in most divisions for the Commonwealth is up to that standard so you're right it really could be.
