Witherspoon wins unless it's the very best Morrison vs. the very worst Witherspoon (e.g. of the second fight with Bonecrusher Smith).

Tim would work him over and win by 7th or 8th round knockout. Tommy's best was with Foreman and Mercer before he tired out.

Tim was too good for Tommy, and a much better fighter in his prime than Ray Mercer ever was. Tommy would do ok the first round, but then the dismantling begins. By the fourth Morrison is clobbered by the overhand right...unconscious.

Tim whiterspoon and ray mercer are absolutely in the same league as fighter and Tommy was doing great until he got knocked out

I respect your opinion, but then how did Mercer not ever win a title? Tim won the belt twice.

Even more telling, Tim Witherspoon barely got beat by a still-great Larry Holmes. Mercer got beat decisively by a past-40 Larry Holmes.

No offense or disrespect meant. Mercer was an excellent fighter. Tim was a two-time champ.

This is because of a combination of circumstances and styles, winning a title in specific circumstances against specified rivals does not make you necessarily better than a guy that did not win a world title.John Ruiz won a world title and David Tua didn't .. you know who won between them, right? you say that ray mercer did it wrong against Holmes however he did very well against lennox lewis

Yeah. I don't force to you picking Morrison but i explained you why i say that spoon and mercer are 2 fighters in the same league. And winning a title does not make you necessarily better h2h than another fighter who did not have the same chance

Tim was a little better as a boxer than Tommy generally. Tommy's chin often let him down in big fights, he'd get hurt and Witherspoon probably stops him late.

Tommy does have a chance though, he's a puncher, but Tim usually used more skills and ring smartness.

A better question is how this would’ve played out in the the early-mid nineties. I say Tim still knocks him out.
