ya I feel the same. matter a fact, I change my pick to Bradley TKO. Bradley knows how to apply pressure and make it a dog fight. There're no way in hell Gamboa can hold up over 12 rounds if Bradley decides to walk him down and dig to the body like he did Kendall Holt
Well Gamboa would be more mobile than Tim IMO. And I don't think Tim is as dynamic coming forward than someone like Salido. Not saying he wins but I think he's at least capable of avoiding a TKO.
Gambao wouldn't beat Malignaggi. He would lose. As far as how technically sound he was in the amateurs I'm talking about how he has looked in his pro career. He throws telegraphed arm punches and always seemed to have poor balance. I don't see him being able to handle Malignaggi's jab or footwork. Bradley would just tear him apart. I don't even see him being able to land much on Bradley so it will look so easy that people will probably bash Bradley for winning.
I agree with elchivito, Gamboa needs to get active, the longer he remains inactive, the more he becomes irrelevant, and the more his weight class passes him by. Timothy Bradley would handle Gamboa fairly easily. Bradley has fought tougher and physically bigger guys, and normally is the smaller guy. This would be one of the few fights in which he would actually be the bigger guy, albeit only by a slight margin. I would rather see Gamboa fight Broner which could be an even tougher matchup.
Bradley in the Peterson and Pacquaio fights has better lateral movement than anything Gamboa's shown. Bradley was walking down a much bigger Holt and beating him up. Gamboa fights with his hands low and avoids punches with his hands down. Tim has the hand speed to catch him consistently.
If he always had poor balanced and telegraphed punches, Salido would have knocked him out. He makes costly mistakes, but at his best he's very sound. My point was not a H2H comparison with Malignaggi, but you reference Paulie like he has boxing knowledge and IQ while Gamboa does not, which is a huge exaggeration. If Bradley tears him apart, it's probably due to a size difference accompanying Bradley's skill-set. But Gamboa's very mobile, more mobile than Bradley, so it's not unthinkable he has some success.
Unless Gamboa is different from the last fight? He is going to get out hustled and brutalized. That BS Cuban shuffling crap won't work against Timmy. I think this is going to be a shocker when everyone sees how easily and thoroughly Gamboa is dominated.
yeah I thought Gamboa's athleticism and skill would keep him from getting stopped, but I just don't like him jumping weight classes like that. Plus he seemed to lose some speed at 130. 140 is just too high. At that weight, I think Bradley may be able to even out maneuver him. Bradley has fast feet himself. I could be wrong though of course. He he was at 126 2 fights ago and now he wants to fight the WBO Welterweight champion.
