Trinidad wouldnt be able to land his jab, he throws very wide puches and would be constantly countered by Mayweather.
:huh Not land his jab? How the heck do you even come to that conclusion? And no, he wasn't a wide punch thrower. He threw straight, and accurate punches in combination. That was on if tito's strengths. I swear, I wonder just how many posters here have even seen Tito fight back in the day...
He was my favorite boxer for a while. Titos best punches where his hooks. They are wide punches. Bhop caught him wide open as he threw a left hook and left himself open. Mayweather would be countering him all night
:huh So you say he throws wide punches just because of his hook? It's not even that wide. He threw his left hook compact to maximize power. Was his stright right wide? Throw a wide jab? Or his hooks to the body? Answer is no.... BTW, Floyd isn't Hopkins. Using what other fighters have done, who have a different SIZE and STYLE makes little sense.
I said he wouldnt land his jab. I never said he threw a wide jab. Thats not even possible Of course his left and right straights where straight. atsch He threw alot of hooks, he would leave himself open alot. Bhop caught him wide open. And thats not comparing their styles.
No triangle theory, Titos resume proves that he had problems with defensive boxers.... beating an old Sweat Pea doesnt count. Tito had to be set to land his power shots.. Floyd would stick and move him and break him down. Rememeber the Vargas fight was close throughout until the KO
I know what you said. For some reason, you said he throws wide based on his hook. I was being kind of a smart ass with the 'wide jab' part. Sorry. Anyway, if youare going to hold tight to using what Hopkins did, then we'll just have to disagree here. I try not to use other fighters styles as a basis of a win, unless their styles, or size, are comparable. Floyd and Hops have little in commmon. Ans usinfg what Wright, Hopkins, or DLH did as some form or proof makes little sense as well. All three fought Tito differently. But they shared an attribute that none share w/ Floyd. Size.
Tito was one of my favorite fighters in the 90's behind Whitaker & Roy Jones...im a huge Tito fan BTW and have all his fights on DVD. I do agree he was better at 147:good Also we'd have to take into consideration that WW is Floyds 4th weight class....its titos first.....lets assume 147 was both of their natural weights. You think a 147 Floyd that performed the way he did @130 wouldnt totally outclass a 147 Tito? Ima a Tito homer at times but come one..Floyd would embarrass Tito if they were both the same weight..... You are using a much bigger Tito that was more powerful than a natural featherweight, the same way Hopkins the natural MW was much bigger & stronger than the natural WW Tito. BTW that Winky-Trinidad fight broke my heart Lance you make my day at work on this forum exciting:good
Floyd hasn't been a stick and mover at 147. He's become a lot more stationary since moving up. See how often Floyd backs himself up to a corner or the ropes? Be a terrible move against Tito.
If you can keep it cool, so can I. :thumbsup I have to say, assuming 147 was Floyd's natural weight doesn't really make sense. We judge them based on how they have fought at that weight, when they have fought at that weight. So we can only judge a 147 Floyd by how he's looked there. If 147 was his natural weight, he'd have a different look to him. So not sure what we can say there. But I;'ll play along, if Floyd started at 147, and assuming he kept most of his style, I'd have no propblem saying he beats Tito at 147. But since we (or I) am using the Floyd who HAS fought at 147, how less mobility he's used there, gonna go with Tito. And I am with you on Tito vs. Winky. Was a sad sight to too Tito helpless vs. that shell. My apologies on the insults.
I dont think his punches were wide at all....:nono IMO he threw sharp crisp punches but they were most effective vs guys directly in front of him. He wasnt able to set vs movers. Its hard to gauge this because it wasnt until he got older and moved up in weight that he fought "technical defensive" fighters. I would have loved to see a Prime Tito vs a Prime Sweat Pea:deal That would have showed us a lot.
