We should also not discount what Tito did at 154, the way he dismantled Reid and Vargas. In the welterweight divisions Trinidad was a destroyer. Standing in front of him was a suicidal tactic. Bud never faced anything of the kind. That is what makes this fight so difficult to pick.

Tito was rightly regarded as a beast. He was dominant, hit hard with both hands and was a beautiful accurate puncher. When he was 40-0 having just beaten Joppy he was talked about among the best ever and then the Hopkins loss and his performances post retirement have caused him to be underrated.
Yep all true, Tito was a wrecking ball at his best. Trinidad often gets underrated in the skills dept., his power punching being the usual focus instead. Tito was actually a very good technician with nice punch selection & excellent timing. Crawford usually gets aggressive when he gets hit and that would be a bad idea against Trinidad. Tito late by clean KO.
I loved to watch Felix Tito Trinidad fight on Showtime live when he was the champ at 147 lbs, but what I do remember is that he usually tasted the canvas before getting up to stop his challengers, much the same way Floyd Patterson was as Heavyweight Champion in his pre Liston days. Terrence Bud Crawford hits very very hard, he also has the brutal killer instinct to keep a great fighter like Tito down for the full ten count.
I don't know enough about either of them to give an opinion. I've seen Crawford twice, some of the fight with Benevidez and some of the Spence fight and I don't remember if I ever saw Trinidad fight. Maybe @greynotsoold has seen them more and can give a more informed opinion.
Trinidad steam rolls him. Not based on skill, but size and pressure. I don't think bud has anything to keep him honest.
Look at Bud's record before calling what I posted nonsense. Even though I always liked Tito, you do have to agree that Tito did not have the sturdiest chin.
