Bret's weird actually. He was a pretty good amateur wrestler and could have seriously competed to represented Canada in the Olympics but never real felt it. Always wanted to be an actor instead and fell into pro-wrestling as a way to stop his dad demanding he compete in amateur wrestling matches.
You're right, Vince is a bodybuilding man and it was J.R who was more into that side of things. Stoned memory oversight on my part, apologies.
The only problem I see for TNA is how do you push him? If his winning his MMA fights then its all good but you cant push someone who is getting beat. Shamrock actually wrestled in All Japan Pro wrestling before pancrase. Its funny as he said after his first match Stan Hansen said 'You do know this isnt shoot' and Shamrock replied 'its Japan, strong style'.
Shamrock is/was a Pro Wrestler through and through. What does Mo know about Pro Wrestling apart from having a casual interest in it!?!?!?! :think
Angle didn't really implode. That dude has a **** TON of injury's. He was becoming a liability to the company and had many personal issues on the side. Likewise Lesnar lost interest and couldn't cope with the hectic schedule. (Then again Lesnar's history of flaming out is almost legendary...he did the same at the Vikings, NJPW, the UFC and also K-1 HERO's in his bref stint). Jericho did the same as did Christian hence their brief hiatus's. Lashley had a falling out with Vince. IIRC he never even wanted to leave. But his girlfriend or wife at the time was getting heat from the WWE and after falling out with Vince and their top brass he exited too. And Jack Swagger is facking terrible. The WWE are soooo clueless now its tragic.
Oh I agree...but that was WWE's take on it for a long time. And the cluelessness of WWE is indeed tragic...I mean WHO THE **** has Lesnar lose his first match back?
I saw his comeback on Monday night Raw when he F5'ed John Cena. But i had no idea he'd fought his first match and lost. Seriously every writer at the WWE needs to be sacked. Bunch of **** tards the lot of them.
They should bury whatever personal issues they had with him and bring Heyman back in, if he'll come. Real ECW shat on WWE from a great height Not followed wrastlin for years, but to hear they made Lesnar lose his return match?? Unreal atsch
Yea he sure was [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4QXtHU2VYo"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4QXtHU2VYo[/ame]
Yeah I get that. It takes months and months to be ready. If more doesn't train for this he will look horrible unless TNA just had him work shoot style but they don't have the roster for that. Another American who made the transition really well was don Frye. He was a real success in new japan pro wrestling. Barnett also crossed over and has done well.
Frye and Barnett are in a whole different league to Mo. Mo has no Pro Wrestling experience to speak of. TNA is a major stage to be learning the ropes. Bad idea if you ask me. :think
He did a week's training in OVW way back when but that's it. The idea is for him to go to OVW to train in the summer after his knee heels and then debut in TNA in the fall. I too worry whether this is going to work - its a lot easier to transition between puro and J-MMA than it is between US pro-wrestling and modern mma (esp for a catch wrestler like Barnett). And you have to think they're going to want him on tv by October at the latest so they can start getting him over for the first Bellator season on Spike.
