You really didn't have to write a book about this brah. Everyone knows why Floyd came back (Money) and why he didn't wait until after the Hatton/PAC fight to annouce his comback. Floyd is a very intelligent fighter.....and he has some business sense....but he's far from the "Most smartest" business man outside of it. He's just a good promoter of himself, but if he were smart he'd be doing things business wise that Oscar DLH has done and his business portfolio would be showing massive growth as GBP has shown. Floyd is a better boxer than business man and a better promoter than fighter. But boxing needs floyd's personality badly. He does ganer drama and boxing seems to thrive on drama.
I'm not saying there's no hatred because of race. I don't think we'll ever be completely rid of some racist sentiments. But previous posters seem to think that it's a big factor. I just isn't. People can accept trash talking athletes as long they can back it up. But how can you like someone who keeps talking trash, keeps boasting of how great he is and doesn't even take on big challenges? And Ali was villified because he took a stand against the vietnam war and refused to be drafted, and during the time, the anti-war sentiment wasn't strong yet. Yes there may have been racist undetones, but to equate what Ali did to get that hatred during the time to what PBF is doing now is just silly.
I couldn't agree more and have said this same thing before. Blacks like to talk **** in sports it's what we do. We understand it but others find it as ignorant and cocky. We are flashy people by nature. For example I was in Vegas last week with some of my NFL buddies and went to club XS and Jet every night we were in VIP popping bottles and being very flashy that's just the way it is and it's why we can understand and appreciate a guy like PBF because he thinks and acts like we do.
Lets not get carried away. Floyd is the best boxer without a doubt but he's not capable of fighting and winning against ELITE level guys all in a night. Throw 5 Gatti's at him then yes!
So Floyd is scared to fight Pac??? What on earth could ever motivate you to have the balls to post those words? How stupid can someone be???nut:nut
Come on man PBF started at 130 and has gone up to 154 so I guess now he just picks on smaller guys...please. PBF is a small guy he's not a big WW the size difference between him and JMM or Pac isn't that great like Oscar-Pac was.
The boxing community needs to thank Floyd for not granting Oscar a rematch. Their fight certainly generated a lot of money but received a ton of criticism for not being entertaining. While Floyd did initially sign for a rematch, he later backed out of the contract. I can’t thank him enough for sparing my eyes from watching a dull sparring match. Also what better way to elevate your own status than by refusing a fight with the Golden Boy? Smart move Floyd, smart move. He was scared to lose against DLH in a rematch, since the first fight was decided on a split decision.
The funny thing is when PBF won the bronze medal came into the sport somewhat humble and with fantastic skills put on one of the best boxing clinics of the past 25 years against Chico and no one notices. Instead you have media darlings like Gatti and Oscar who are looked up to as gods who where both limited and flawed. PBF knew he had better skills than both but didn't get any credit. So what did he do? He changed his persona and became the bad guy and guess what? It worked to a tee. Now he's on top and calls the shots so much for Mr. humble nice guy.
