Ummm... Isn't the goal of boxing to hit your opponent when they're not expecting it? The ref has said fight so it's legal... Remind me what the issue is again?

So we have successfully rationalized the questionable behavior of both men and are simply left with the official result.

    Floyd by KO 4.

Unless you have some other point to make.

What I didn't like about the whole thing either was Mayweather's team going round him to try and convince him he did the right thing after the fight was called off!!

I do want to say that Floyd was out of line with the interview with Merchant, even though it was funny as ****. That ain't right though, leave the old man be! LOL

It was a cheap shot... even a ***** can't "BELIEVE" that it wasn't.... However... Saying so is impossible for the most die hard Floyd groupie. But....Ortiz had this all pop off by his own very despicable cheat shot.

OK...let's go back a few seconds before, when Floyd had just been struck with an illegal headbutt straight under the chin. He probably wasn't completely prepared for that attack, either.

Yet, even as he's complaining to the official, he still remembers to get his hands up to defend himself from Ortiz's attempts to connect with a follow-up punch. In contrast, Ortiz had been struck with a not particularly sporting, but legal punch...And still doesn't remember that the fight has resumed and that he should bring his hands up into guard.

Mayweather kept his mind focused upon the matter at hand. Ortiz didn't. If Ortiz had, the fight would have gone on for a while longer.

Floyd hugged Ortiz back and kept his hands "in position" to land the sneaky two piece. Ortiz never saw it coming. Blame can be placed on BOTH sides....Ortiz for butting Floyd and Floyd for sucker punching Ortiz. I wish we saw the fight play out...Floyd was definitely in control but Ortiz had his moments which was good to see.....it gave us a chance to see the Floyd who dominated Gatti, N'dou and Mitchell again. It makes fore great, exciting fights even though it put Floyd at risk.

It does seem that Mayweather will do anything to secure victory.

Floyd is not the most hated athlete in America, far from it. He might be the most hated here on this forum for reasons that have nothing to do with boxing.

Cheap shot aside, I saw another dimension of Floyd's game. He was banging with a banger and dominating.

I've always figured the guy who gets cheap shotted has every right to respond in kind. That instead of being cheap, it cost Floyd a cranium to the mouth. It was more like a refund shot.

If someone starts **** with me for no reason, I feel like I have every right to kill that person. Don't you feel that way? Leave me be and I'll leave you be. But **** with me without provocation, and vengence will be infinite.

What's up with you folks? Are yall really such pussies? If someone wrongs you, you had better **** them up. Or else you'll be getting wronged by everyone your whole life.
