Foreman said he would never face Morrison ever again. And the rematch came up after George beat Moorer.

A sharp and focused Morrison like that was a serious threat to anybody. Not many fighters could have withstood the power shots Duke put across Foremans head. And the speed at which they hit him was like Frazier reincarnated.

Honestly he was not. Go over his record. What great knockouts does he habe besides doing what Mike Bentt did to Morrison. I would say he had an iron chin but hardly a big puncher

I'd have to go with Moorer but Morrison obviously has a punchers chance. Joe Hipp (a southpaw) and a very average fighter by the way, one who lost easy against Bert Cooper and Bruce Seldon yes MR WEAK JAW Seldon destroyed Joe Hipp that same Hipp that gave Morrison hell and broke his jaw. Moorer also a southpaw obviously was a wrecking machine when he first moved up to heavyweight jumping in with big punchers in Stewart and Cooper and took his lumps but lit them both up with big punches that I know Morrison couldn't handle. Morrison also want life and death with Carl Williams yes the truth "he with zero left hook defense" yet he took Tommy's early and nearly knocked Tommy out in the middle rounds. That same OLD Williams that was bounced off the canvas by guys like Jerry "slice" Jones, I'm sure most of you YouTube kids don't know Jerry. If you opt to go with the later Moorer version with Atlas by his side he still beats Tommy it just may take him a few more rounds but after he softens him up with his jab and punches to the body (Moorer is an underated body puncher) he will take him out. I mostly see a Moorer KO but if it sees the cards Moorer will have them, I just think he's a level above Morrison skill wise. Morrison would've never beaten Holyfield (not even the one Moorer did) and he also wouldn't of beaten Bert Cooper, not that motivated Cooper anyway.

    The **** he was.

I lived through that era and it was a time I actually had a lot of connections and got to meet some of the players. Morrison was a joke. There's a reason he was rated only twice during his career among Rings Top Ten Heavies in their annual ratings, and both times at NUMBER NINE.

The only folks who believed in his potential after gullible rednecks.

Again, I ask... What has Tommy Morrison done in the last 18 years to increase the greatness and importance that his contemporaries did not give him?

I also lived through his Era, and I'm from Missouri. I was actually in attendance when Morrison beat the old and shot Ruddock.. I think me and my buddies were the only ones in the house rooting for Razor, back in these days I was very heavy into trading VHS tapes with other collectors all over the world. One collector I believe his name was Lonis Tuna (from Canada) was in Ruddock's corner for that fight not as a head trainer or anything obviously but kinda more of a whatever you need guy. Spit bucket, towel whatever anyway I remember him telling us Ruddock had barely trained any yet he still was on the verge of knocking Tommy out. I like Tommy but he is vastly overrated around these boards he doesn't beat Moorer nor does he beat many of the better heavyweights from that era. Again this is coming from a guy that saw every fight for going on 30 + years!! Tommy could bang and was in some good fights but that was mostly because he was limited, he was a flashy offensive fighter but when the punches came back fast and furious he was usually out gunned,

    Thank you, brother...

And I actually liked Tommy because you knew a devastation was going to occur. He was a tightrope walker, always on the brink of disaster but with a big equalizer... at least against 2nd tier opponents. He just was never in Moorer's class.

Finally a bit of realism here...yes we all loved Tommy but he rarely beat a live contender. The record books can be deceiving, hard to beat been there at the time!

Life-and-death with Joe Hipp and a washed-up Carl Williams, destroyed by Ray Mercer and Michael Bentt, and some people are seriously entertaining the notion that he'd beat a prime Tyson ??

    Must be a joke.

Well im living through this era we have now and i can clearly see Morrison had better fundamentals and attributes than the majority of the guys around today.

There isn't anybody around today who would last 6 rounds against Foreman , let alone beat him like Duke did.

The 90's was a great era of HWs. You had to be a top quality operator to be of any relevance.

If Morrison was a non factor , why was Lewis due to face in him a huge fight in 93?
Why was there a 20 million dollar fight with Tyson about to happen before he got the aids?
Why did Balboa cast him in a movie?

You once said Tommy had a natural God given left hook . Which he did. A great left hook. One of the best.

That hasn't changed , so you're hating on Morrison for reasons unknown, for its got nothing to do with him being a bum like you are trying to claim now.

No prime version of Tyson was ever going to be facing Morrison.
