IMO Toney has had two HW wins taken away from him.

Toney clearly beat Ruiz ass, and it wasn't because of the steroids. The steroids he used in that fight were not even performance enhancing, they just accelerated the healing of the biceps tear that he suffered in the Rydell Booker fight some months before. Still, steroids are forbidden, so even if he did beat Ruiz, he violated the rules, so the NC is ok.

Im ok with the first Toney-Rahman fight having been judged a draw. It was a close fight, with Toney landing the better punches but Rahman being far more active. I actually had Toney winning this fight, but the draw is ok. Toney should have schooled Rahman easily, but he showed up terribly fat and out of shape, and for a title-fight at that! Toney gave the fight away, very disappointing for his fans, and he didn't really deserve the win, so this fight being a draw served him as a lesson...

Toney clearly beat Peter in their first fight, it was one of the worst robberies that I have ever seen. And Toney didn't even have to take that fight in the first place...

The circumstances that led to the Toney-Rahman II stoppage were very confusing. However, it is clear now that Rahman didn't want to continue to fight although he was able to do so. That's QUITTING. Yes, that's what it is. The officials got it right on fight night and ruled it a TKO win for Toney. This decision was appealed by Rahman and later overruled to a NC by the California state athletic commission, based on formal defect (!) in the decision taken on fight night. Now that's what I call controversial, and the result being changed to a NC was wrong, and utterly ridiculous. Rahman pulled a ***** move and got away with it, while Toney got robbed a second time at HW!

That's okay, he's had a couple wins in his career he didn't deserve given to him as well.
These things kinda even out I guess.

british light heavy oakey was caught with traces of cocaine and was banned from one year

footballer rio ferdinand missed a drug test by an hour and was banned for 40 games

ohurogu the 400m olympic and world champ missed 3 random drug tests out of 30 and was banned for 1 year.

a second offense is a ban for life despite none being convicted of taking a steroid.

last week one of the top running backs in the NFL was caught using steroids and got a 4 game ban.

granted the USA used to be the most lax when it came to prosecuting and testing drug cheats of the western nations and they have tightened up there act to such an extent they are now one of the best in olympic events.

they should be commended for this.

there boxing commision is the softest in the world though.

Toney has been caught twice using steriods. He is addicted to them and will keep using them if he is caught again he is banned for life.

I thought he beat Peter the first time but he tested positive for steriods against Ruiz. The result against Rahman was fair. I can make a case for one loss, but not three.

I don't think theres an argument for Peter 1. It was a prime example of corruption in boxing.

And, my position is the correct one; as evidenced by the CSAC ruling.

Toney was on his honeymoon during preparations for the fight...I think he's finally digging his way out of the whole conditioning mess right now.

I just wanna see him retire soon, I mean surely the Batchelder fight should have told him its time. I am fed up of these fighters who are constantly fighting well past their best and still getting shot after shot at big fights. I mean I know they have a right to earn money to live, but if they were more careful then they would not be bankrupt and have to fight on.
Give the up and coming fighters a chance to shine.

Yes, it is completely ridicouslous if someone here really thinks that Peter won the first fight. The same goes for Sanders KO Toney in the first. Just biased opinions which are completely out of place and can not be taken seriously.
