Ayala has nuthuggers! Unbelievable, the dudes a ****** :rofl

Anyway, he was far too crude to hang with Duran IMO. I think Moore looks better on film; Ayala could probably stop him but I don't feel he could get past Moore's jab, he was crude as hell.

Anyways, Duran would batter and stop Ayala whenever he wanted too.I can't believe Ayala has a nuthugger, like the guy last week who was nuthugging Roger Mayweather :rofl

from what i have seen on video's, he was good enough to beat moore and the duran of 83. but i would favour the other members of the fab 4 to beat him

Roger at least was a 2 weight champion who competed at the top level and had some Hearnsesque qualities. Ayala was a brawler without a big punch who hadnt stepped up to get the exposing and hiding he would have got

Who the **** is dumb enough to pick a crude brawler over Duran after seeing what Duran did to Moore, Cuevas and Barkley (amongst others)

The Aquino bout?? Moore was already done at that point-anything after Duran is a shot Moore.Duran basically ruined Moore. As for Aquino I would pick him to beat the crap out of Tony as well.
Moore is the more proven pro and I'd pick him to defeat Tony as well.

Ayala was a ******. Monzon was a murderer. But what does that have to do with fighting in the ring?

Let's face it, Duran at this weight would have been gassed by the 8th round. He wasnt exactly a ball of fire losing to Benitez and Laing. Not to mention he was wasted by Hearns and decisioned by Simms. He would have gotten past Robbie but by round 9 he ran out of gas and Robbie walked away with the decision

And whoever said Tony couldnt punch I'm sure never had a good look at him and probably confuses for some second rate crowd pleaser. He was managed by team Duva and Benton who managed more talent than any other trainer I know of

Ayala looked great, but he just wasn't proven enough to favor him over any elite fighters. I could see him beating Moore, though.

Honestly, you dont think he could take an over the hill fighter like Duran that just lost to Benitez? Duran is nothing but a good test for most up and coming fighters above 147

Duran would get gassed in a few rounds. Look at Hagler brother Simms. As mediocre as he was, still won on points because Duran is too old, too heavy and cant cut it at this weight.

Who's dumb enough not to pick Tony over Duran? Duran only beat Moore that badly because of a thumb in the eye. Cuevas was a shell by that time. The Barkley fight was an anomaly. But still certainly was an accomplishment in itself. But I wonder, could Duran have won 9 out of 10? :think

Regardless, I just can't logically see how he would've beaten Tony Ayala. Duran was a blown up LW, who tired rather quickly at these higher weights. Tony was a natural 154 lber, was much stronger, hit way harder, and just kept coming and coming and coming. It's only a matter of time before Duran is simply worn out and overwhelmed.
