Just wondering how people found the Moore and Bellew commentary last night? I found it quite refreshing and I've always liked Jamie Moore but I found Bellew to be likeable and it seemed he actually is a fan of boxing.
Yes Macklin was good too, felt a bit awkward when the other commentator commented on Geale being the best opponent of Golovkins career. I don't think Macklin liked that
Thought the studio team was very good last night Moore and Bellew,also I like Ed Robinson you can tell he lives and breaths the sport.
Bellews a good boxer. Look forward to the rest of his career. Don't think hell win a world title at cruiser,but hope he does. Been very very successful as it is. But a TERRIFIC commentator/analyst. Really knows his stuff,and is an intelligent,articulate man. Comes out with interesting comments,and has anybody noticed how good he is at pronouncing difficult names? I bet he could make a fist of football commentary.
Good post. He surprised me last night, it made a change from boxers being paid to talk when not really knowing what to say. To someone who actually boxes at a high level and is obviously a fan of the sport.
Yeah commentator team last night is better than what normally covers big fights. Ed Robinson is better than Adam Smith, Macklin better than Jim Watt, and Tony bellew is top draw
They need ed in that role permanently! I couldn't believe the got jonny nelson in to do a fight the size of froch groves 2
Bellew, Moore, Macklin, P. Smith... These lads are VERY knowledgeable about the sport, So it doesn't surprise me to see them being great at commentating. Same with Nelson.
I'd rather see & listen to McCrory & McGuigan, 2 men who have climbed the mountain. just personal taste, I like Moore & Bellow..but obviously they have to be conservative, just re-boots of Nicky Piper, ect, if yer get me drift!
Bellew is a decent character and thinks about things, he just turns into a mentalist come fight time.
I agree, I like Johnny, think he is a really good pundit, but not a presenter. Ed Robinson is best presenter (but unfortunately for him and us his boss Adam Smith fancies himself as the top presenter). They should have kept McCrory on as the main commentator of fights instead of Halling.
