I was thinking that was a quality match up. Didn't know the guy was 0-3, he does not come across at that level. He needs a good coach, promoter etc I'm not saying he is the next Mayweather but he should be looked after and given some guidance because he can do something on the domestic scene, certainly more than be a journeyman.
I was quite impressed with him, a lot better than his record suggests, I hope he gets a good break and pushes on.
i think that more boxers are working out how useful engaging with the fans online can be. an obvious example is jeffros entry into the prizefighter. if i was a fighter trying to build a following i would be all over this stuff. look how many people went to see jeff at the prizefighter. people flew over from ireland ffs. personally i agree, im going to email matchroom to say the same thing.
Maybe a prizefighter for talented fighters with a losing record rather than the journyman thing. Barry Hearns rebuttle of the Prizefighter journyman was always that there would be nowhere to take them after the tourny. But a fighter with a losing record given the chance to turn it around would sell!!!
Boxing certainly ****ing does discriminate, how many times have you seen a prospect or favoured fighter get given a gift decision when the opponent probably deserved the nod? Oh that's right, all the ****ing time. Pace showed enough that he deserves to have a few fights on a level playing field rather than getting thrown to the lions so early in his career, that's all people are saying.
when i 1st saw his record i thought **** me another bum. but he certainly looked like he had potential. at 18 he will have possibly next to no amateur experience, would like to know otherwise .
Tony had a very decent amateur career and was a good Welsh international. He has never given anyone an easy night!
