"Deontay Wilder is a chinny bum that I would 100 percent knockout." Now ESPN talking about him fighting Eric Molina in June. Come on, that fight is a joke - you may as well go ahead and put KO1 on the boxrec now," "That bum Wilder is so protected that its unveliveable. Have some pride and fight me. I will give half my purse to any charity if I can't beat your sorry ass. You shouldn't be the WBC champion, you should be the WMP (World's Most Protected champion). I usually don't disrespect other boxers, but I got no respect for Deontay Wilder, especially if he's going to defend against the same bums he came up with." TT the Tiger telling it like it is. As per ***********
I really like Tony Thompson and I was disappointed hearing Wilder would fight Molina too. Wilder's record - aside from Stiverne - is ridiculously low quality. I can't say I understand why he went that route for that long. And now, again, another low quality opponent. In some ways I can understand this particular case though. Wilder did break his hand. And his last fight was a huge step up for him. So it makes sense that he might want to make sure everything is working right. But Jesus, no more after this, Wilder. Make sure everything is good and start fighting real opponents... Also, as for TT vs Wilder: I like TT more, but I think Wilder would win. His win over Stiverne was huge.
Love the tiger, most underrated heavy of his era and possibly still the best american heavy. Hope he gets another title shot
Why do you not cheer for Wilder? He's a very very very hard hitting man like Kovalev. Probably harder h2h.
i like wilder and fury, i just like to give deontay stick. Thompson i like as well. In all honesty, wilder would ko thompson in 5th round.
At this point I would favor Wilder over Thompson. Thompson is slow as molasses and would have a hard time keeping up with the younger quicker athlete. But kudos to Thompson for calling Wilder out. He's right to do so. This is another soft fight for Wilder and so far his record is against incredibly weak competition. Reeks of protection.
But Wilder and Kovalev have to go back to their ko'ing ways. :smoke They both got UD12's their last outing. :-(
thompson aint a soft touch really, he beat the breaks off price twice, beat tubby solis. gave pulev problems. broke his wifes hips.
TT is good. Probably still a top 10 HW when in shape (tougher to count on that at his age) but he's better than most fights Wilder could/will make.
Na kovalev ko'd the iron chinned pascal. the only reason they UD hopkins and stiverne was to prove they can box aswel.
I agree Thompson would be a solid opponent for a first defense. Certaintly better than Molina who laid down against Arreola with the first decent punch that landed. Despite being old and past his best Thompson would bring experience, a southpaw stance and grit into a match against Wilder. More than his previous 33 opponents save maybe Stiverne.
