Tony Weeks should be investigated

Oh give it a rest Floyd got the rub of the green in Vegas most of the time. Maidana came to fight he didn't complain he went hard and Floyd proved his greatness by making adjustments and sweeping the last 7 rounds. I agree Ward was about to finish Kovalev but as a fan of Ward I don't see how you can be satisfied with that finish. Weeks screwed the pooch if he had just broke the action and given Kovalev 5mins from a series of low blows Ward still would have finished him and it would have been a lot cleaner. You pick and choose who is allowed to get away with dirty tactics and who isn't based on who you like.

 

It feels like most referees these days are starting to enjoy the spotlight a bit too much. Maybe it's always been that way? Cortez " Remember I'm fair but I'm firm " ( to quote Benito Mussolini of all people! ) and other refs that have cultivated catch phrases makes me cringe. The best fights are the ones where you hardly notice the refs doing their jobs. What was Smogers catch phrase? Did Frank Capuccino have a catch phrase? I remember Mills Lane had his " Lets get it on! " thing but it never felt as contrived as good ole Joes.

Maybe if a referee sticks around long enough he will eventually **** everybody off at some point.

 

He knows the script, he was trying to do everything in his power to help Rolly win. Just like the judges in certain fights.
