Here's some more Konadu. His full fight with Gilberto Roman (who was at the end of his ropes by that time) is also available on Youtube. [YT]kiTljwB5tPs[/YT]
Does Algeria claim Marcel Cerdan as their own? Not saying he's top 10, but I'm surprised not to have seen John Mugabi mentioned.
Thanks Pea......I wasn't suggesting Sapharom was in his prime by the way. Still, although green, he was probably at his most durable. Feel free to disagree with reasons :good
watched Nana Konadu Vs. Abraham Torres Well, my verdict (on TWO ROUNDS) Mantequilla, whilst I thought your original assesment of Quartey X2 was a wee bit crass, I have to say I completely agree with you. In fact that is a perfect way of describing him, and this is based on two rounds against, what I'm assuming (without having seen him before, and, as I say not wanting to look at boxrec to get an idea of how good Torres was as that will get me nowhere) is an overmatched opponent. His jab is amongst the toughest I've seen at the lower weights, and I like his subtle head movement. He of course employs the usual high African guard, which I was expecting, but that of course that compliments his 'solidness' (is that even a word?!?!?) Considering that was at Bantam, I'm now very, very intrigued to see what he was like at the lower weight. Will watch the other fights later, off out training now, but thanks guys for turning me onto this dude; I'm a fan already :good Strange question; Does Arthur Abraham fight like an African fighter? High guard, short powerful shots??? Just a theory.
