OK, since this is a head to head argument, I will go against what I have done over previous years.

A win on cuts is as absolute as any other.

However you might look at the Lewis VK fight, and think that this would have been the toughest night of Fury's career.

I am not talking about what my friends have said, I am talking about photographs that they have taken with him.

Perhaps look at pictures of him with some other fighters, who you have a clear idea of.

I never claimed Liston threw the most per round just that he threw a lot more then most. He actually threw the most when compared to his upper echelon peers. You can see these stats in The book” Ali boxing by the numbers”
As far as the knocking out the most prime opponents that was in Boxing by the numbers by Trunzo (they’re different books). Where the top 120 or so heavyweights records were analyzed and compared.
As far as Listons opponents being smaller that’s fine they were but it doesn’t change the results nor did that smaller era help bigger men then Liston knock men out. So I never understood that argument.
Those are the sources I can’t post links to books. I to was shocked at Listons punch output.

Machen had a better career. Because pointing out Moorer beat Holyfield it doesn’t mean Holyfield is therefor less. I’ll take the career in whole argument. But I don’t think williams was a tomato can…just don’t think he was a killer but I get the argument for him being a solid contender worthy of note

Source for that can be found in boxing by the numbers. Will have to pull up exactly how it’s worded

Heavyweight heights are very unreliable, in every era.

No that is not what I mean.

We have celebrityheights for the modern ones. Fury is between 6'7 and 6'8.

    He's absolutely massive.

I think context is important Listons resume is pretty shallow.

    That's sounds about right

He's not a full 6'9" barefoot ... About an inch and half under that .... Still a huge man

Patterson simply wasn't that good in terms of resume. He had a fragile chin on account of him fighting much bigger men & needed to be protected at the hands of D'Amato that made him duck everyone. Machen and Folley were okay fighters, but unfortunately they were undersized in most occasions.

So protected he has wins over Bonavena, Archie Moore, Ingo, Cooper, Tommy Jackson, Machen, London, Chuvalo, Slade. That’s a ridiculous amount of quality wins. Hell of a fighter Liston just had his number and was that good.

His resume to me is okay-ish. Not too good not too bad. Also, Patterson was mediocre at HW given his obvious weak chin and size differences. Liston as usual feasted on a smaller man.

Cmon really. How many HWs have a better record? Patterson is top 20 easy. And we already went over that his chin wasn’t the worst. Not great but not the worst
