New Orleans is rich in boxing history and four fighters come to mind.

Bernard Docusen fought Sugar Ray Robinson in 48 for the welterweight title but lost and had a record of 74-10-6 by careers end.

Ralph Dupas won the WBC and WBA Light Middleweight title and finished his career with a 106-23-6 record.

Joe Brown was the Lightweight Champ for 6 years from 1956-1962 and had a career record of 116-47-3

Tony Licata, although never gaining a world title did fight Carlos Monzon for the Middleweight title in 1975 and finished his career with a record of 62-7-4.

Unfortunately, boxing has taken a back seat to other sports and there are only a couple gyms left in the city that actually have much of a stable of fighters and none that I know of that can become big on the national level.

    Floyd Mayweather
James Toney(born in grand rapids grew up in Ann Arbor)
    Stanley Ketchel

No order by the way. Ketchel would probably be at 1. Surprising very few people there know about him.

Oh and if you mean active

    Floyd Mayweather
    Peter quillin
    Errr Tony Tucker still fighting?

    Current/Active

Tony Bellew - top 10 light heavyweight, former world title challenger
David Price - British/Commonwealth champion, future heavyweight champion of the world
3rd is a hard one to choose ... Kevin Satchell is a British/Commonwealth champion with a big future.

I'm not that familiar with past fighters as I am only 20, but it would likely be...

    1. John Conte (Light heavyweight world champion)
    2. Alan Rudkin (British, European Bantamweight champion, world title challenger)
    3. Paul Hodgkinson (Featherweight world champion)

The city is on a rise recently, a few decent prospects coming through with decent potential.
